Vickers and Nolan Enterprises (VNE) is an engineering company that provides Government projects and programs with experienced and dedicated system architects, engineers, subject matter experts (in tactical intelligence), and program managers. Qualifications

VNE, LLC is looking for a TS/SCI Cleared Data Warehousing Specialist, Journeyman level

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:



  • High School with 7 to 25 Years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a Data or IT-related field with 3 to 15 years of experience


Experience:



  • 5+ years of experience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data
  • 3+ years of experience with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
  • 3+ years of experience building scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
  • Experience creating solutions within a collaborative and cross-functional team environment
  • Experience using version control tools such as GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket
  • Ability to develop scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats, and support project team to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms
  • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
  • Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
  • Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification within 30 days of start date
  • TS/SCI level Clearance required.


ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience with UNIX or Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting
  • Experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience with distributed data or computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka
  • Experience working on real-time data and streaming applications
  • Experience with NoSQL implementation, including MongoDB or Cassandra
  • Experience with Databricks
  • Experience with data warehousing using AWS Redshift, MySQL, or Snowflake
  • Experience with Agile engineering practices
  • Need to be able to work out of McLean and Ft. Belvoir.

As a Data Warehousing Specialist in Data Engineering, you can resolve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast, agile environment. We're looking for an experienced specialist like you with the skills needed to develop software and systems from vision to production-ready.

This role is more than just coding. As a Data Warehousing Specialist, you'll use your passion to master new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You'll help design, develop, and maintain robust processes to efficiently move data from source systems to our robust data lake. You'll also help maintain and update technical documentation for processes and data pipelines.



"Design, model, or implement corporate data warehousing activities. Program and configure warehouses of database information and provide support to warehouse users.

Support Data Lifecycle Management processes. Possess a deep understanding of state and federal regulations, industry standards and governance policies. Acquire and capture new and vetted data, apply common data classification schemas, implement archival processes and a robust recovery plan, ensure data is available in real-time for use and publication, facilitate the creation of a comprehensive data management policy, determine guidelines for retaining or destroying data."

Essential Duties of the Job:



  • Ability to communicate task requirement information to client in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, as well as lead and participate in meetings and working groups.
  • Requires visual acuity to use a keyboard.
  • Must be able to attend work each day, during scheduled hours, unless on travel or approved time off.
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face-to-face
