- Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations matters, offering guidance on workplace concerns, complaints, policy interpretation, and employee conduct issues.
- Collaborate with management to effectively address performance concerns, attendance issues, and workplace conflicts.
- Provide expert consultation to leaders on corrective action, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary processes.
- Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation efforts to foster positive working relationships and effective team dynamics.
- Monitor trends in employee relations issues and proactively recommend solutions to enhance employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Conduct prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations into allegations of policy violations, workplace misconduct, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, ethics concerns, and other employee complaints.
- Gather and analyze information through interviews, document reviews, and evidence collection.
- Prepare detailed investigation reports, findings, recommendations, and executive summaries.
- Maintain confidential case documentation and investigation records with utmost discretion.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Security, and Labor Relations as appropriate during sensitive or complex investigations.
- Ensure investigations are conducted consistently and in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Identify potential employee relations risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support workplace accommodations, leave administration, and other employment processes as needed.
- Assist with responses to regulatory agency inquiries and employment-related complaints.
- Coach leaders on employee relations best practices, workplace communication, documentation standards, and performance management.
- Provide recommendations regarding employee actions while ensuring consistency and fairness across the organization.
- Support organizational changes, workforce transitions, and change management initiatives from an employee relations perspective.
- Develop and deliver training related to workplace expectations, respectful workplace practices, investigations, and employment policies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations case files.
- Track and report employee relations metrics, trends, and case outcomes.
- Prepare summaries and reports for HR leadership regarding workplace concerns and investigation activity.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of Human Resources experience with a significant focus on employee relations, investigations, or workplace compliance.
- Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and preparing comprehensive investigation findings.
- In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Strong conflict resolution, interviewing, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
- Experience supporting a complex, multi-location workforce.
- Experience partnering with Legal and Labor Relations functions.
- Completion of workplace investigation training or certification.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry.
