Job Title: HCP Portal Analyst
Location: Mettawa, IL (Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Position Overview:
The HCP Portal Analyst drives the day-to-day functional delivery, content review, and release execution of Healthcare Professional (HCP)-facing digital platforms. Working across key therapeutic areas (including Immunology and Parkinson's), this role bridges business, marketing, and technology teams to ensure portal experiences solve practical physician-office challenges-such as prior authorizations, patient onboarding, prescription routing, and patient list management.
This is a business-side, digital platform focused on user workflow empathy, content shaping, clear documentation, and functional validation-not an IT/technical engineering position.
Preferred Backgrounds:
- Healthcare Digital Specialist, Marketing Specialist, or Platform Coordinator with HCP/clinical experience.
- Healthcare Practice Coordinator, Prior Authorization Specialist, or Clinical Office Administrator transitioning into digital platform operations.
- Candidates with web content management or agency experience supporting life sciences clients. (Note: Pure technical software engineering, backend database administration, or pure IT BSA backgrounds are not the primary target for this business-side role).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, health-tech, or clinical office settings.
- Healthcare Acumen: Working knowledge of healthcare practice operations, physician office workflows, specialty prescriptions, or Prior Authorization (PA) processes. Hands-on experience working directly in a medical office or supporting HCP-facing software is highly preferred.
- Digital & Web Platform Exposure: Experience working on web campaigns, content management systems, or digital platforms. Familiarity with agile sprint workflows (reviewing user stories, working with IT/BSAs) is a strong plus.
- Communication & Presentation: Outstanding written communication and copywriting skills; ability to distill complex functional concepts into clear, digestible presentation decks.
- Testing Familiarity: Basic understanding of or hands-on participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) execution and test script authoring.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional note-taking ability, meticulous attention to detail, and proven follow-through within collaborative, cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Requirements & Story Governance:
- Translate business and clinical practice needs into clear scope items and functional requirements.
- Partner with Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) and Business Technology Solutions (BTS/IT) teams to review technical user stories before development begins.
- Actively review, clarify, comment on, and approve user stories to ensure technical plans accurately capture business discussions and intended workflows.
- Maintain precise, detailed notes during cross-functional alignment meetings to ensure accountability across sprint releases.
Content Shaping, Copywriting & Agency Collaboration:
- Draft and refine user-friendly copy, labels, tooltips, and instructional messaging for portal features and email communications.
- Collaborate with external UX/creative agencies to conceptualize feature flows and visual layouts, evaluating agency proposals from an HCP-usability perspective.
- Design comprehensive PowerPoint training decks detailing new scope items and release enhancements for field and support teams.
Testing & Release Execution:
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across release cycles, utilizing provided templates to draft user-centric test scripts.
- Execute front-end UAT validation to ensure features function as intended from a physician-office viewpoint (backend data staging managed by IT).
- Document edge cases, gaps, and functional defects prior to production releases.
Platform Enablement & Governance Support:
- Champion the perspective of office staff, clinical coordinators, and HCPs to continuously optimize key features (e.g., Prior Authorization flows, "My Patients" tracking, intake workflows).
- Coordinate with brand, marketing, and cross-functional teams to align portal updates with broader brand strategy.
- Provide tactical support for Medical, Regulatory, and Legal (MRL/MLR/PromoMats) submission tracking and documentation as required.
