Job Summary Medical Laboratory ScientistPay Range: $30.50 - $48.10 (Pay based on experience) Essential Functions *After successful completion of orientation, training, and competency assessment, perform all instruments and testing methods applicable to the assigned role in accordance with CLIA requirements. *Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintenance of patient test result records. *Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens. *Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and required maintenance. *Follow established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems do not meet the laboratory's established acceptable performance levels. *Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or the reporting of test results and either correct the problem or immediately notify the appropriate general supervisor, technical consultant, technical supervisor, clinical consultant, or Laboratory Director. *Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
