Department Summary

The UCLA Bedari Kindness Institute was established to provide an interdisciplinary platform dedicated to the research, education, and practice of kindness. Ultimately, BKI aims to advance principles and practices of kindness to create a more humane world.
Position Summary

BKI is searching for an exceptional part-time staff member to support its various programmatic activities and communications efforts. Much of this work can be conducted remotely, but in-person attendance would be required at monthly seminars, BKI events, and some BKI staff meetings. AVAILABILITY REQUIRED: Must be available to work throughout the entire academic year and some nights and weekends.


Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • 1-2 years Administrative experience. (Required)
  • 1-2 years Event coordination and organization. (Required)
  • Excellent oral and written communication (Required)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote setting (Required)
  • Effective problem-solver (Required)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. (Required)
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and punctual. (Required)
  • Must possess strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft and Google Office Suite. (Required)
  • Proficiency in Wordpress, Constant Contact, and Canva. (Required)
  • Experience planning public programming or events. (Required)
  • Ability to follow direction and to work harmoniously in collaborative contexts (Required)
  • Experience with client relationship management software desired. (Preferred)

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • High School Diploma Or equivalent experience (Required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent experience/training (Preferred)

  • Special Conditions for Employment

  • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
