Description

Master Scheduler

Turn customer demand into an executable production plan.

In highspeed manufacturing, a great production schedule is more than a spreadsheet - it's the link between what we promise customers and what our operations teams can realistically deliver.

ProAmpac is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler who understands the pace, complexity, and competing priorities of a manufacturing environment. You will build and manage production plans that balance customer requirements, plant capacity, material availability, inventory targets, manufacturing lead times, and operational efficiency.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving the daily puzzle of manufacturing. You know that the best schedule considers more than demand - it accounts for equipment capacity, changeovers, materials, inventory, lead times, and customer commitments, while giving Operations a plan they can execute.

What You'll Do

As Master Scheduler, you will own and continuously refine the production plan for the facility. You will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, and business leadership to keep customer commitments and production priorities aligned.

You will:

  • Develop master production schedules based on customer demand, sales forecasts, historical trends, new business, inventory requirements, and available capacity.

  • Translate customer requirements into realistic, executable production plans for a fastpaced manufacturing operation.

  • Analyze capacity, manufacturing lead times, material availability, and operational constraints to identify risks before they affect customer delivery.

  • Provide monthly production schedules and adjust priorities as demand and operating conditions change.

  • Make delivery commitments for maketoorder products based on available materials and production capacity.

  • Establish and manage finishedgoods inventory and safetystock targets by product and pack size.

  • Balance service levels with inventory investment while supporting corporate inventoryturn goals.

  • Monitor actual production performance against the master schedule, identify gaps, and partner with Operations to improve schedule attainment.

  • Work closely with plant buyers to understand rawmaterial availability, supplier lead times, and purchaseorder priorities.

  • Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) discussions with clear visibility into demand, capacity, inventory, service levels, and resource requirements.

  • Maintain accurate planning parameters within MRP/ERP systems, including lead times, lot sizes, and itemmaster data.

  • Track and communicate key scheduling, inventory, and productionperformance metrics.

  • Lead continuousimprovement opportunities that strengthen schedule attainment, reduce unnecessary changeovers, improve inventory accuracy, and support manufacturing efficiency.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who understands both the numbers and the manufacturing operation behind them.

You should have:

  • 2-5 years of experience in master scheduling, production planning, inventory control, or a closely related manufacturing planning role.

  • Experience supporting a highspeed or complex manufacturing environment where production priorities, capacity, customer demand, and material constraints must be balanced daily.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing planning, demand planning, replenishment, inventory management, and productioncapacity concepts.

  • Experience measuring manufacturing productivity, efficiency, schedule attainment, or similar operational performance metrics.

  • Experience working with MRP/ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, or similar systems.

  • Experience with advanced planning or scheduling tools such as Preactor, Kinaxis, or similar technology (preferred).

  • Strong Excel and analytical skills with the ability to turn data into practical production decisions.

  • The ability to identify problems quickly, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop solutions when priorities compete.

  • Strong communication skills and confidence working across Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, and leadership.

A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Research, or a related discipline is preferred.

You'll Be Successful Here If You...

You understand that customer delivery starts with a schedule the plant can actually execute.

You're comfortable working in an environment where conditions change - a material delivery moves, a customer requirement shifts, production performance changes, or a new priority enters the plan. Rather than simply updating the schedule, you assess the downstream impact, communicate the tradeoffs, and help the organization determine the best path forward.

You combine strong analytical skills with practical manufacturing judgment and enjoy seeing a wellbuilt plan translate into products produced, inventory available, and customers served.

If you enjoy bringing order to manufacturing complexity and want a role where your decisions directly influence production performance and customer delivery, we'd like to hear from you.
