This position supports the General and Stroke Inpatient Neurology team while also supporting the outpatient general neurology practice. It offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an APP who values team-based care alongside the ability to practice and follow patients independently. The APP evaluates and treats patients with neurologic illness in a fast-paced setting with a rapidly growing scope of management, with robust opportunities in research and quality improvement. * Licensure: PA-C or AGACNP-BC * Experience: 1-2 years of neurology experience preferred; new graduates considered and supported through a thorough training program. No prior procedural experience or demonstrated procedural competency required to apply. Clinical: * Independently and in collaboration with physician(s) and interdisciplinary team members, provides comprehensive clinical and organizational direction and leadership to the healthcare provider team in the care of patients. * Advocates for patients and family members in educational needs, treatment options, participation in care and ethical issues and patient rights with recognition and consideration of the diverse needs of the individual/family Educational: Leadership: Quality/Stewardship/Outcomes: Research: Professional Development: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree. Experience: Department and unit specific. Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, and Physician Associate) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $129,323.00 - $185,265.60 annually.
