Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Entry Authorization

As a Juvenile Correctional Security Officer - Entry Authorization in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. This driving post requires a valid driver's license. Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized individuals at a government juvenile services location by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures and policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, issue visitor credentials as directed, and maintain accurate access-related logs.
• Control access to restricted areas, screen visitors and deliveries in accordance with established procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and support emergency response activities as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, surrounding areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
