• 6:00 am - 2:30 pm (Mon-Fri) On-Site
• OT (overtime) as needed (10 hours per week)

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $59,081-$76,373. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Are you passionate about Quality and Inspection? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our inspection department. As a Senior Component Quality Technologist, you'll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team.

The Senior Component Quality Technologist is responsible for advanced inspections of components, applying deeper expertise in GD&T and problem-solving to resolve complex quality issues. This role includes mentoring junior inspectors and participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the component inspection process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct advanced inspections of complex components, utilizing a thorough understanding of GD&T and technical drawings.
• Identify and assist in resolving complex quality issues, collaborating with production and engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
• Interpret technical drawings, BOMs, and GD&T to assess compliance with design requirements.
• Record and document inspection results, including the identification of non-conforming materials.
• Utilize, maintain, and calibrate precision measuring equipment, such as micrometers and calipers, to verify component dimensions.
• Collaborate with procurement and production teams to address quality issues and suggest improvements to processes.
• Take a proactive role in improving inspection processes, identifying inefficiencies, and suggesting improvements.
• Maintain a strong understanding of ISO 9001 standards and ensure compliance in more complex inspections.
• Maintain detailed inspection logs and reports for review by supervisors. Assist in documenting and updating inspection procedures and processes to improve overall quality control.
• Ensure proper safety measures are followed in the inspection process, especially when working with more complex or hazardous mechanical systems.
• Continuously develop skills related to mechanical testing and inspection techniques, with a focus on pursuing relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ, ASME).
• Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

• 5+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience, such as assembly, with 2+ years of experience in inspection.
• High School Diploma
• Advanced understanding of mechanical systems and their components. Able to complete complex troubleshooting tasks to identify issues within these systems and their components.
• Ability to understand part drawings, Bills of Material, Sales Orders, & Technical Documents.
• Sound understanding of and ability to apply GD&T.
• Sound understanding of ISO 9001.
• Ability to train and mentor less-experienced team members.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment on a product floor and open to learning new concepts of electrical/product testing.
• Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers. Able to manipulate small objects, operate tools, and handle intricate equipment effectively.
• Great attention to detail, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and identify correct vs. incorrect product functions.
• Great communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
• Great computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests and use Microsoft/ERP applications.
• Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Great shop math skills with the ability to calculate measurements.
• Sound interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team members inside and outside of the department.

• Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.

Preferred:

• Associate degree in a trade or related mechanical/electrical field
• ASQ Certification
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles.

MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Walking: Frequently required to walk moderate distances across the S&C campus.
• Sitting: Continuously required to stand and perform tasks.
• Manual Dexterity: Frequently required to use hand-eye coordination to control both hands and arms for a full range of motion to operate equipment/machinery/power tools/office productivity equipment.
• Ascending / Descending: Occasionally ascending or descending stairs and ladders.
• Observation / Eyesight: Frequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors.
• Communication: Continuously required to talk and hear, in person and by phone/conference calls
