Norris' Group Care Programs include a Residential Unit for boys, a Residential Unit for girls, and a Shelter Unit, all providing treatment, educational, and therapeutic recreational services to youth ages 12 through 17 and their families. Youth receive services related to mental health emotional behavioral disorders, problematic sexualized behaviors, AODA, and trauma, including physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Norris is currently seeking a Director of Group Care for our beautiful campus in Mukwonago! Under the direction of the Chief Program Officer (CPO), the Director of Group Care is responsible for overall management, growth and sustainability of group care programs at Norris including residential treatment services, shelter care, and group homes. The DGC has overall responsibility for ensuring daily treatment, educational and recreational activities at River's Edge Campus (REC) are coordinated, integrated and executed through the lens of trauma informed care across all halls and programs, 7 days a week in accordance with Norris' mission and philosophy. This position is also responsible for the admission process for all youth into the programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Overall responsibility to manage the day-to-day operations of the group care programs that result in quality practice and long-term program viability according to agency protocol, licensing requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Monitors overall supervisory practices of programs to ensure consistency of messaging, practice and employee management. This includes reviewing the group care master schedule, communication logs, completing and submitting serious incident reports, and completing all state required documentation and paperwork relating to residential and shelter care.
  • Monitors administration of food service and program meals/snacks to ensure youth are receiving appropriate portions and healthy options and programs meet administrative requirements. Monitors and ensures there is a variety of recreational activities for youth that are age and developmentally appropriate and that there is planful, appropriate supervision.
  • Provides consistent support and guidance to the Residential and Shelter Care Program Managers to ensure service provision meets program, contract and regulatory expectations and is consistent with the overarching goals of ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Develops and maintains efficient referral and admissions processes, ensures all required referral information, releases, consents, and supporting documentation are received and reviewed and conducts thorough assessments of referral information and admission appropriateness.
  • Responsible for the overall successful management and administration of the Department's financial and business functions. In collaboration with the CPO, monitors the financial management of the Department to ensure financial viability of group care programs. Assists in development of annual budgets based on current and projected employee and service needs.
  • Responsible to develop, coordinate, and monitor program outcomes in collaboration with
  • the CPO and Director of Operations. Consistently participates in QI and other agency-wide committees regarding quality service delivery.
  • Overall responsibility to maintain a presence in the community, market the program and work closely with the PQI and Marketing Supervisor to ensure smooth referral and admissions processes. Develops and maintains relationships with all referral sources including County employees, directors and DCF.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master of Social Work or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience working with children and families involved with the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems required.
  • Knowledge of therapy / treatment of SED children and their families.
  • CPI certified (including holds), or the ability to become certified within 6 months of hire.
  • Knowledge of and ability to practice trauma-informed care at a high level.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to social service agencies supporting children and families.
  • Training, knowledge, and experience in administrative business functions.
