Team Overview

  • The Enterprise Data Management team within IT is responsible for managing and improving enterprise data across the organization. The team partners with internal business and technology groups and, as needed, external stakeholders to support data governance, data quality, reporting, and enterprise data initiatives.



Position Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Data Management Project Manager with a strong analytical mindset and hands-on understanding of enterprise data management. This role will focus on maintaining the company's Critical Data List, ensuring its accuracy, stability, consistency, and use as a single source of truth across the organization.
  • The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with ambiguous information, analyzing complex data and business requirements, and translating findings into clear, actionable reporting for audiences ranging from project teams to senior executives and VPs.
  • This role requires someone who can work independently with minimal direction, manage multiple priorities, take ownership of deliverables, and operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the organization's Critical Data List, ensuring accuracy, consistency, stability, and alignment across systems and business functions.
  • Support the development and tracking of KPIs and metrics associated with critical enterprise data.
  • Monitor and manage changes to critical data as systems, processes, and business requirements evolve.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate processes to ensure the Critical Data List remains a reliable single source of truth.
  • Analyze complex or ambiguous information and translate it into clear, digestible reports and business insights.
  • Develop recurring, ad-hoc, and executive-level reports, summarizing findings, trends, risks, and recommendations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to various levels of management, including senior leadership and VPs.
  • Identify data quality, governance, metadata, and process issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Support software/system migrations and assess their impact on enterprise data, metadata, and governance.
  • Manage assigned initiatives and deliverables within the broader Enterprise Data Management program.
  • Develop budget forecasts, analyze budget variances, and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Work collaboratively with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, resolve issues, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and business transformation and support implementation of changes.
  • Take ownership of assigned work and independently resolve moderate to complex issues.



Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of related professional experience; no maximum years of experience.
  • Strong experience in Enterprise Data Management, Data Governance, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn complex information into actionable business insights.
  • Experience working independently and managing multiple priorities with minimal direction.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present findings and recommendations to senior management and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, including the Microsoft ecosystem and SharePoint.
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality.
  • Experience supporting software/system migrations and understanding their impact on enterprise data.
  • Ability to manage and maintain data-related processes, standards, documentation, and reporting.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience with Critical Data Elements (CDEs), Critical Data Lists, or similar enterprise data inventories.
  • Experience establishing or maintaining a single source of truth for enterprise data.
  • Experience with data quality metrics, KPIs, and data issue remediation.
  • Experience with business transformation, process improvement, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience working across business, IT, and data teams.
  • Experience with enterprise reporting and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with software migration projects or understanding of data considerations during system migrations.
  • Experience with business transformation or process-change projects.


Desired

  • Experience with Collibra and/or Atacama. These are highly desired but can be trained.
  • Snowflake experience is helpful.
  • Understanding of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem beyond the basic tools.
  • Data Management certification, such as CDMP, is helpful but not required.
  • PMP certification is helpful but not required.
  • Utility/energy industry experience is a plus but not required.
