Responsibilities

Provides administrative and/or clerical support to Perioperative Program. Provides EMR support to Staff. Assist department in day-to-day operations. Assists in smooth patient flow throughout the Perioperative department as needed. Works on special projects as needed/requested. Provides direct patient care based on individual need according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and within the scope of practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) after initial orientation and completion of a skills checklist.

  • Provides direct personal care under the supervision of the registered nurse within the scope of practice of CNA
  • Participates as a contributory member of the interdisciplinary team
  • Participates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources including inventory and supplies
  • Completes all chart preparation needed for surgical procedures.
  • Completes all documentation within departmental requirements and timelines
  • Facilitates the smooth flow of patients through the department from admission to discharge
  • Assumes responsibility for meeting annual in-service requirements and ongoing personal development
  • Suports and trains staff on EMR software; assists with Perioperative charges and edits as needed

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the State of Idaho.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous medical experience
