LAUKOA is seeking IT Specialists to support museum information technology, gallery and theater systems, public connectivity, and digital infrastructure. The work combines systems administration, guest Wi-Fi, cybersecurity, cloud services, and hands-on hardware support under Coast Guard access and security procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain internal and public networks; administer Windows and macOS systems, cloud storage, and software-as-a-service platforms within the assigned scope.
  • Perform approved backup, restoration, data-protection, and authorized account onboarding and offboarding. Grant access only within delegated authority.
  • Support gallery and theater technology, presentations, streaming, lighting controls, and approved museum events.
  • Troubleshoot workstations, projectors, theater hardware, displays, sensors, and interactive components in coordination with AV and exhibit staff.
  • Manage guest Wi-Fi and visitor portals while maintaining isolation from secure internal databases. Preserve captioning, screen-reader, audio-description, and other approved accessibility features during maintenance.

Required qualifications

  • Three to six years of systems administration or technical support experience.
  • Industry-standard technical certifications, including CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+.
  • Proficiency managing both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Hands-on VLAN, VPN, and Wi-Fi mesh experience supporting hundreds of concurrent guests.
  • Knowledge of threat mitigation, firewalls, and data encryption; experience administering cloud storage and SaaS platforms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware from workstations and gallery projectors through theater systems.

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Professional experience and certifications may be considered for substitution; a bachelor's degree is preferred rather than required.
  • Museum, library, gallery, public attraction, or other high-uptime experience; AWS, Azure, or Google Workspace administration certifications.
  • Digital asset or collections databases, IT and AV integration, disaster recovery, and training nontechnical staff and volunteers.
