DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to keep buildings, equipment, and grounds in good condition. You will support daily operations by completing repairs, maintaining tools, and ensuring safe work practices. As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Carpentry Tasks: Install ceilings, flooring, doors, and windows, and build or repair structural features such as shelves and workstations
- Plumbing Work: Repair or replace sinks, pipes, faucets, toilets, and drains, and address leaks and clogs
- Painting Preparation: Prepare surfaces, mix paint, and complete interior and exterior painting of buildings and fixtures
- Electrical Repairs: Install or replace switches, receptacles, ballasts, bulbs, and wiring when needed
- Grounds Maintenance: Cut grass, plow snow, trim shrubs, and keep outdoor areas clear of debris
- Tool Care: Maintain tools and equipment through cleaning, minor repairs, and preventive maintenance

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration): or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

- You must maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Any formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
- Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
- Experience in commercial carpentry
- Experience in the plumbing trade
- Experience working in the electrical trade field
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration or HVAC systems
- Experience with 3-phase wiring, including emergency generators, automatic transfer switches, switchgear, and 3-phase panels
- Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aquastats, and instantaneous water heaters
- Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC), as they relate to repair of buildings
- Structural experience in the maintenance or repair of buildings
