DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supervises the actuarial analysis of property and casualty insurance rates, rating procedures, and rating plans and the statistical analysis of related data. Our team will rely on you to guide staff, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure all work is performed according to applicable laws, accepted actuarial practices, and internal requirements. As a Property Casualty Insurance Actuary Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Project Oversight: Assign all property and casualty rate and rule insurance product filings to staff; review the results of work performed before exposing results to broader audiences
- Staff Supervision: Determine team priorities, participate in hiring, provide training, evaluate employee performance, and promote opportunities for development
- Team Workflow Planning: Track and report the status of filings and projects, including issues; research laws, historical data, and new legal decisions to inform adjustments to changing industry practices
- Technical Assistance: Provide guidance and work collaboratively with other offices to resolve issues, develop positions, and implement actuarial techniques and other process improvements
- External Communications Support: Help prepare and review responses to inquiries, proposed legislation, press releases, and information and testimony for hearings and court proceedings

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Property and Casualty Insurance Actuary 2; or
- Six years of property and/or casualty insurance actuarial experience, and a bachelor's degree with major coursework in mathematics or statistics; or
- Designation as a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, and two years of experience in property and casualty insurance actuarial work; or
- Designation as an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society and three years of property and/or casualty actuarial work; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
