KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Cyber Architecture & Engineering to join our Enterprise Security Services organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a senior security architect and trusted advisor, leading the development and implementation of the firm's security strategy while enabling business objectives through effective risk management, security architecture, and compensating control guidance
  • Lead the secure design of enterprise platforms and solutions across cloud, AI, and application ecosystems, while building strong partnerships across technology organizations to drive alignment, standardization, and business enablement
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with multiple public and private cloud vendors to advocate for product enhancements to meet the firm's needs and inform internal stakeholders of forthcoming features of interest; provide guidance and approve firm information security controls, security configuration baselines, and security design patterns that support risk assessments and support the development of secure (or cloud-based) architectures and/or application development
  • Provide technical and thought leadership on emerging security technologies and practices, including AI and cloud security, while continuously advancing the firm's security posture and developing the next generation of security architects
  • Participate in internal focus groups to provide security expertise and guidance on the development of new and emerging technologies (such as Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI-powered business workflows, AI agents, AI-assisted development platforms, and intelligent automation solutions), ensuring that security requirements are defined and integrated into the design process; develop business cases and conduct presentations to senior IT leadership of proposed security products, studies, and roadmaps
  • Coach, mentor, and develop security professionals while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement; may lead a small to mid-sized team and contribute to workforce planning, resource management, and organizational priorities
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
  • Minimum ten years of recent experience in security architecture with proven success leading architecture teams, influencing enterprise technology strategy, and securing complex cloud, application, identity, and AI-enabled environments
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred; or a minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required with minimum ten years of equivalent professional experience; certifications requirements: CISSP and either CCSP or CCSK, or equivalent industry experience; other certifications of importance: AZ-500 - Microsoft Azure Security Technologies, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security - Specialty MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure, AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Demonstrated experience designing and securing solutions within complex regulated enterprises, including cloud, AI-enabled, and integrated platforms, while balancing business enablement, risk management, operational requirements, and technology constraints
  • Expert-level understanding of cloud computing architecture, technical design, and implementations, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software as Service (SaaS), and containerized delivery models across multiple different cloud vendors; expert-level experience working with development teams in implementing modern solution delivery methodologies, including Agile, DevSecOps, AI-assisted software development, platform engineering, secure-by-design practices, and incorporating security into the overall system development lifecycle
  • Ownership to define, document, review, and provide feedback in accordance with the firm's security strategy on technical security standards such as cloud security best practices, operating systems security best practices, application security best practices, wireless network security best practices, AI-enabled solution security standards, AI-assisted development security expectations, data protection technologies, and enterprise integration patterns; experience with security related regulatory requirements, such as NIST, PCI, ISO 27001, HIPAA compliance
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders, develop high-performing teams, drive strategic initiatives, and translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes

California Salary Range: $198000 - $368000
