Assistant Director of Marketing

Position Summary

Horseshoe Bay Resort is seeking an experienced and creative marketing professional to serve as Assistant Director of Marketing. This leadership role is responsible for supporting the development and execution of integrated marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, guest engagement, and revenue growth across the resort.

Working closely with Revenue Management, Sales, Food & Beverage, Membership, and Operations teams, the Assistant Director of Marketing will lead the execution of digital marketing campaigns, special events, public relations initiatives, brand partnerships, and promotional programs that strengthen the resort's market position and drive measurable business results.

This is an exciting opportunity to market one of Texas' premier destination resorts, featuring luxury accommodations, championship golf, waterfront recreation on Lake LBJ, a full-service marina, spa experiences, racquet sports, destination dining, private club membership, and a year-round calendar of signature events.

Essential Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Campaign Execution



  • Support the development and execution of integrated marketing plans, campaigns, promotions, and resort activations aligned with business and revenue objectives.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to identify opportunities and create targeted marketing initiatives that increase revenue and guest engagement.
  • Execute seasonal campaigns, new amenity launches, promotional offers, and property-wide marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor campaign performance and recommend optimization strategies based on results and market conditions.
  • Maintain brand standards across all marketing channels and guest-facing communications.


Digital Marketing & Content Management



  • Oversee website content, SEO initiatives, digital advertising, email marketing campaigns, social media activity, and OTA listings.
  • Ensure all digital assets, content, and online information remain accurate, current, and aligned with brand standards.
  • Coordinate the creation and management of photography, video, and creative content assets.
  • Manage marketing calendars, content schedules, and project timelines to ensure on-time execution.


Public Relations, Events & Partnerships



  • Collaborate with public relations partners to develop press releases, media outreach initiatives, and brand storytelling opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, influencers, and strategic brand partners.
  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of resort-wide events, holiday programming, member experiences, golf events, and special activations.
  • Assist in the development of strategic partnerships and influencer programs that expand brand awareness and reach.


Budget & Vendor Management



  • Manage assigned marketing budgets and monitor expenditures.
  • Coordinate relationships with agencies, freelancers, photographers, media partners, and vendors.
  • Review invoices, evaluate campaign performance, and track marketing ROI.


Leadership & Collaboration



  • Supervise, coach, and develop marketing team members while ensuring project accountability and professional growth.
  • Assist in leading departmental meetings, planning sessions, and project reviews.
  • Partner with Sales, Revenue Management, Food & Beverage, Membership, and Operations teams to support resort-wide business objectives.
  • Present campaign updates, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to leadership as needed.


Market Intelligence



  • Monitor hospitality industry trends, competitor activity, consumer behavior, and emerging marketing platforms.
  • Utilize market insights and analytics to support strategic decision-making and campaign effectiveness.


Qualifications

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.


Experience



  • 5-7 years of progressive marketing experience, preferably within hospitality, resorts, luxury lifestyle, entertainment, or destination-driven brands.
  • Experience leading integrated marketing campaigns, digital marketing initiatives, public relations efforts, and event promotion.
  • Demonstrated success managing cross-functional projects and collaborating with executive leadership teams.
  • Hospitality resort marketing experience strongly preferred.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing strategy, brand management, digital marketing, and content development.
  • Experience with SEO, email marketing, social media strategy, online reputation management, and OTA platforms.
  • Proficiency with major social media platforms, including Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, and Pinterest.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and copywriting skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor relationships, media buys, and performance reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Cloud experience preferred.
  • Creative, analytical, collaborative, and results-oriented.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapt to changing business needs.
