Park Nicollet Clinic s looking for exceptional, patient focused Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Cardiology APP team and make a difference for our patients and our community.

The Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for providing both inpatient and outpatient services. In the inpatient setting, the APP works as a team with the attending cardiologist to perform and staff initial consults, subsequent follow up visits and to coordinate patient care. In the outpatient setting, the APP will see patients independently in the cardiology clinic. Outreach clinic may also be expected. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hr shifts or 10hr shifts for total of 40 hr per week. Occasional weekends.

Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

If a Physician Assistant:

Current registration to practice as a Physician Assistant in Minnesota plus current national certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant & Approved by Minnesota Board of Medical Practice for prescription writing privileges (verified during credentialing process).

If a Nurse Practitioner:

  • Currently licensed as a APRN by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
  • Currently licensed as a RN by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
  • AANP certification
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and DEA certification (verified during credentialing process

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Provides quality patient care consulting with supervising physician, alternate supervising physicians, consultants, and other health care professionals when appropriate. Will maintain the high standards of care and service in accordance with the NCCPA and PNHS. Supports the process of improving existing processes and outcomes; including but not limited to patient health outcomes, satisfaction, and confidentiality. Models behavior and commitment with group practice and Park Nicollet Health Services values.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:

    • Graduating with a bachelor's or master's degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs

  • Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:

    • Board certified through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

    • Must maintain state licensure and DEA certificate.

    • CPR certification.

    • Maintain national certification by logging 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and sit for recertification every six years.

    • This position requires credentialing, following the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) guidelines.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.

    • Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Defibrillator or AED, various health testing devices, telephone, syringes, dressing application, thermometer, scale, photo copier, and FAX machine.
