Description

Production Supervisor - Overnight Shift Schedule: 8pm - 8am (on a 2-2-3 rotation) Lead the Shift That Keeps Production Moving

PAC by ProAmpac is looking for a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead our overnight manufacturing team. This role is ideal for a supervisor who knows how to balance people, production, safety, quality, and accountability in a fast-paced plant environment.

On this shift, you will be the leader employees look to for direction, support, problem-solving, and follow-through. You will help create a team environment where people understand expectations, work safely, stay focused, and take pride in meeting production goals.

If you are a steady, approachable leader who can coach employees, respond quickly when issues arise, and keep the operation moving overnight, this could be a strong fit.

What You'll Do

As the Production Supervisor, you will lead assigned personnel and help build a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and performance. You will review the daily production schedule, plan shift priorities, assign work, and ensure materials, supplies, people, and equipment are aligned to meet department goals.

You will also:

  • Supervise, coach, motivate, and develop employees on the overnight shift.

  • Review production schedules and plan work assignments for the department.

  • Clearly delegate routine and important tasks to team members.

  • Monitor production progress and take action when delays, staffing issues, material concerns, or equipment problems impact the schedule.

  • Communicate promptly with department managers and production planning when delays occur, including estimated downtime and expected restart timing.

  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, planning, HR, safety, and other departments as needed.

  • Ensure materials and supplies are properly staged according to order quantities and quality specifications.

  • Identify deviations and communicate concerns to the planning team.

  • Maintain strong housekeeping practices and ensure employees follow all safety policies.

  • Build rapport with employees and remain approachable across all levels of the organization.

  • Support attendance tracking, absence forms, shift leave requests, and related documentation.

  • Conduct introductory and annual performance reviews.

  • Recommend performance increases, retraining, transfers, or other employment actions as appropriate.

  • Participate in interviews for department positions and recommend strong candidates for hire.

  • Partner with trainers and safety committee members to support new hire orientation and safety training.

  • Encourage employees to understand the bigger picture, identify root causes, and contribute ideas for corrective action.

  • Conduct yourself ethically and in alignment with company policies, employee relations practices, and company values.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role means the overnight shift is organized, safe, productive, and informed. Employees know what is expected. Production schedules are reviewed and actively managed. Issues are escalated quickly. Delays are addressed with urgency and transparency. Team members feel supported, coached, and held accountable.

The right supervisor will bring calm leadership to the night shift while creating a work environment where people want to do their best.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking a manufacturing leader who brings strong floor presence, sound judgment, and the ability to make decisions during an overnight shift. The ideal candidate is comfortable leading teams, communicating across departments, handling production challenges, and coaching employees with fairness and consistency.

Strong candidates will bring:

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial environment.

  • Ability to work Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 PM-7:00 AM.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear direction.

  • Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members.

  • Good judgment when responding to production delays, staffing needs, material issues, or equipment concerns.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, housekeeping, and accountability.

  • Ability to build trust while holding employees accountable to performance expectations.

  • Comfort working with HR, maintenance, engineering, production planning, safety, and department leadership.

  • Ability to document attendance, performance, training, and shift-related updates accurately.

  • A steady, ethical, and professional approach to employee relations.

Why This Role Matters

The overnight shift plays a critical role in keeping production on track. This supervisor helps set the tone for safety, teamwork, communication, and execution when many support teams may not be on-site.

This is not a "sit in the office" role. It is a visible leadership role for someone who understands manufacturing, values people, and knows how to keep a team moving toward the goal.
