Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

The Warehouse Specialist plays a key role in supporting the operations of the Maricopa County Elections Department. This position is responsible for coordinating the procurement, receipt, delivery, and issuance of equipment, supplies, tools, and materials for multiple divisions. The role also includes maintaining equipment by inspecting for damage, performing necessary charging, and preparing items for use during each election cycle. During election periods, the Warehouse Specialist assists with a variety of critical tasks, including driving, loading and unloading trucks, scanning equipment, and assembling election supply kits. This position ensures that all materials are accounted for and properly distributed to support a smooth and efficient election process.

We Require

  • One (1) year of related warehouse or inventory control experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or experience listed above may substitute for the minimum requirements on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Must complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification
  • Must successfully complete a background screening
  • Must be eligible to vote in Arizona
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona Driver's License
  • Mandatory overtime during all election cycles

Job Contributions

  • Coordinates and maintains accurate records for the disposal of surplus and used materials in compliance with County and MCTEC policies
  • Oversees the collection, documentation, and storage of inventory and equipment
  • Provides excellent customer service while strictly adhering to all workplace safety rules, standards, and guidelines
  • Operates computers and utilizes purchasing and inventory management systems for efficient warehouse operations
  • Uses inventory software and other tracking methods to manage and maintain accurate warehouse inventory levels
  • Receives, inspects, unloads, stores, and delivers supplies and materials in a timely and organized manner
  • Operates a County vehicle to transport election supplies to and from various locations throughout the County
  • Executes special projects and supplementary warehouse tasks

Working Conditions

  • Requires daily repetitive manual lifting and moving of election equipment
  • Requires the ability to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist a minimum of 40 pounds and carry for 100 feet, and the ability to push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds for 200 feet
  • Work may be performed outdoors in high temperatures or indoors in a warehouse setting
