Job Summary

The CDL Class B Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate is responsible for delivering plumbing and water work materials to customers while supporting warehouse operations. The role involves approximately 80% driving and 20% warehouse activities, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, order picking and packing, forklift operation, material handling, and loading and unloading trucks. The successful candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, customer-focused, and able to accurately manage delivery documentation and materials.

Job Responsibilities



  • Operate an automatic flatbed truck approximately 28 feet in length to deliver plumbing and water work materials.
  • Drive approximately 150-200 miles per day, with mileage varying based on business needs.
  • Deliver materials according to schedules provided by the supervisor.
  • Validate delivery directions and ensure materials are delivered to the correct location.
  • Safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials while staying within applicable weight limits.
  • Match delivered materials to the provided paperwork and verify order accuracy.
  • Obtain and verify customer signatures on delivery tickets.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify that products match the requested credit documentation.
  • Pick up local customer purchase orders as assigned.
  • Secure and return packing lists and delivery documentation.
  • Verify that all materials have been unloaded and properly placed at the delivery site.
  • Review completed deliveries with the supervisor for accuracy and completeness.
  • Return delivery ticket copies to the warehouse and verify that all required documentation is accounted for.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Comply with applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and regulations.
  • Fuel the vehicle as needed and report vehicle defects, accidents, moving violations, or other issues to the supervisor.
  • Communicate with the supervisor throughout the workday regarding deliveries, schedules, and issues.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, inventory management, order picking and packing, forklift operation, material handling, and loading and unloading trucks.
  • Perform general warehouse maintenance and housekeeping duties.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries and other customer interactions.
  • Follow established safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Work overtime as needed.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating vehicles requiring a Class B CDL.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience holding a CDL.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Required state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate status and proof of certification.
  • Ability to read, understand, and write work orders and delivery documentation.
  • Ability to accurately match materials and loads with accompanying paperwork.
  • Experience operating the type of vehicle and equipment required for the position.
  • Ability to safely load, secure, transport, and unload materials.
  • Ability to perform warehouse activities as needed.
  • Ability to provide professional customer service.
  • Ability to comply with DOT requirements and established safety procedures.


Preferred Experience



  • Experience with plumbing materials, water work materials, or related products.
  • Experience with warehouse receiving, shipping, and inventory management.
  • Forklift operating experience.
  • Experience with order picking, packing, and material handling.
  • Experience performing delivery documentation and customer order verification.
