Permitting Coordinator *Location:* In Office *Industry:* Telecommunications / Fiber Optic Construction
Overview We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented *Permitting Coordinator* to support the successful deployment of fiber optic and telecommunications infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for obtaining, tracking, and maintaining permits required for construction activities while coordinating with municipalities, utility companies, engineering teams, and field operations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing telecommunications team and play a key role in bringing high-speed broadband services to communities. Responsibilities * Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for fiber and telecommunications construction projects. * Coordinate with municipalities, county agencies, state departments, and Departments of Transportation (DOTs) to secure approvals. * Maintain permit records and ensure compliance with local regulations and project requirements. * Work closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams to support project timelines. * Monitor permit status, deadlines, and approval processes to minimize project delays. * Review construction drawings, site plans, and engineering documents for permit submissions. * Communicate with utility providers and local authorities regarding project requirements and permitting updates. * Provide regular reporting and updates on permit status and project milestones. Required Qualifications * 2+ years of experience in permitting, telecommunications, utility coordination, construction administration, or a related field. * Knowledge of municipal, county, state, and DOT permitting processes. * Experience supporting fiber optic, OSP (Outside Plant), FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home), or broadband deployment projects. * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, utility plans, and engineering documentation. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications * Experience using GIS mapping platforms. * Familiarity with permit tracking systems and databases. * Experience coordinating with utility companies and right-of-way (ROW) agencies. * Background supporting large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects.
