Role: Business Analyst, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
Location: Primary location is Omaha, NE - Backup would be Westlake, TX
Duration: 5 Months - Position is initial funded through 2026 but expectation is that it will extend through 2027
Your Opportunity
- As a Contractor Business Analyst supporting our Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) product area, you will partner with Product Managers and Product Owners to translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories across a portfolio of high-visibility platforms and capabilities. This role spans several areas that are shaping the future of how clients automates document intake and downstream processing - including OCR/ML-based data extraction, AI-driven IDP, and data payload generation that streamlines and automates operational processing.
- We are actively implementing AI for Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) within the Operations platform ecosystem, so prior exposure to AI/IDP, OCR/ML, or document automation technologies is a plus - though not mandatory. What matters most is analytical rigor, curiosity, and the ability to translate ambiguous business problems into well-structured requirements.
Key Capability Areas You Will Support
- Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) - defining requirements for the end-to-end enrichment and automation of document processing within Operations - including document intake, classification, extraction, interpretation, and decisioning capabilities.
- OCR / ML - documenting requirements for optical character recognition data extraction and machine learning models that create accurate, scalable data payloads from a variety of document types.
- AI for IDP - supporting the evolution of document workflows through AI/GenAI capabilities, helping define use cases, requirements, activation strategy, and success criteria.
- Payload Generation for Downstream Automation - defining requirements for structuring and generating data payloads extracted from documents so they can be consumed reliably by downstream systems and workflows.
Skills Required
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a track record of delivering business process requirements, use cases, and user stories in a Technology or Operations environment.
- Experience and understanding of Agile methodology - developing epics, user stories, supplementary requirements, and business rules.
- Ability to translate complex, cross-functional business requirements (spanning document intake, OCR/ML extraction, and downstream automation) into clear, developer-ready user stories.
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence, or equivalent tools, is required.
- Experience partnering with Product Managers/Product Owners and multi-functional scrum teams, actively engaging in scrum ceremonies (backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews) and driving story refinement.
- Experience documenting requirements for data payloads, middleware, and back-end integrations that feed UI data display and downstream automation.
- Exposure to AI/GenAI, Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), OCR/ML tools (e.g., Hyperscience), or similar automation technologies is a plus, but not mandatory - we are actively implementing AI for IDP and welcome candidates eager to build this experience.
- Curiosity about APIs and microservices architecture, and enthusiasm for supporting large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Strong ability to recognize trends and patterns, approaching problem solving with curiosity and a desire to understand root causes.
- Ability to coordinate development, testing, and implementation of solutions with technology partners, and to support users post-deployment by identifying issues and driving resolution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain product features and requirements to both business and technical audiences.
- Good interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Experience partnering with business users, acting as a liaison between business and technology teams to drive transformational change to existing processes.
- A background in financial services is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical or business-related field.
