Senior Research Associate, Corporate Survey

Remote Opportunity

The Senior Research Associate will work closely with a Research Director and other analysts on survey research projects that deliver actionable insights in addressing clients' market research questions. In this role the analyst will draw on logical and critical thinking skills to create high-quality, custom survey instruments and will build on their knowledge of survey tools to program instruments with extreme accuracy. They will also analyze survey results to craft a compelling narrative that supports clients' decision-making on pressing business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Survey Design and Programming

    • Accuracy & Quality

      • Flexibly adapts templates and customizes as appropriate to create a successful design

      • Recognizes and corrects downstream impacts of survey changes when implementing design edits

      • Flexibly executes and integrates some secondary research necessary to support design

    • Organization & Flow

      • Effective organization is maintained in designs of moderate/average complexity

      • Demonstrates ability to think critically about what questions are needed to support a client's research objectives and how best to organize

    • Programming

      • Accurately programs surveys of increasing complexity

      • Identifies and corrects programming flaws of increasing complexity in testing own surveys and as a team survey tester

  • Survey Analysis

    • Accuracy & Quality

      • Cleans and sets up datasets of increasing complexity

      • Capable of performing more complex data quality checks

      • Uses visualizations to convey data clearly and effectively

      • Reporting accuracy is maintained with analyses of increasing complexity

    • Writing

      • Writing is used successfully to add impact to analysis, including effective synthesizing of findings

      • Capable of writing effectively about increasingly complex data

      • Writing demonstrates sophisticated use of language and a clear analytical voice

    • Logic, Insights, & Organization

      • Narrative indicates a clear understanding and appreciation of the client's business need

      • Produces actionable recommendations

      • Effective organization and flow is maintained with analyses of increasing complexity

      • Possesses strong foundation in survey practices/resources and is self-sufficient in overcoming most challenges

      • Establishes check-ins and touchpoints when project leading, and promptly responds to questions

      • Communicates edits as a project leader and/or closer to project manager

      • Suggests process improvement ideas that are thoughtful and potentially impactful

Qualifications

  • High comfort level with Microsoft Office applications, such as MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point.

  • Experience with survey software platform(s), such as Qualtrics.

  • Experience with survey research methodologies and procedures, such as survey design best practices, developing sampling plans, and quantitative analysis.

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal guidance or oversight

  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to accept feedback and constructive critique positively

  • Ability to pick up new quantitative skills and market research methodologies as necessary

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position

  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Education Requirement

Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline from an accredited 4-year institution is required.

Experience Requirement

Professional or academic experience conducting research or survey design and analysis strongly preferred. Applied market research experience is preferred.

Compensation

Hanover Research strives to create compensation and benefits programs that are competitive, equitable and fair.Thecompensationrangefor this role at the company is $53,800 - 60,000. Please note that the base salary offered is contingent on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our base pay range is determined by the role and the market.
