General Purpose

The Director, Sustainability & Regulatory Affairs will lead CCSWB's sustainability strategy, regulatory engagement, government affairs, and enterprise risk management. Strengthen environmental and social impact while protecting the business from regulatory, operational, and reputational risk. Drive aligned lobbying and advocacy strategies across multiple states. Represent CCSWB with government agencies, elected officials, industry groups, and community stakeholders. Advance sustainability performance, enable business continuity, and position CCSWB as a leader in environmental stewardship and public policy influence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Execute the Sustainability Strategy & Governance for CCSWB in order to ensure long term operation of the business unit. Define and govern enterprise sustainability strategy, including performance scorecards and leadership reporting. Lead cross-functional sustainability initiatives across recycling, water, energy, packaging, and emissions. Generate KPIs, track, measure, and communicate progress against Coca-Cola system commitments and business goals. Build external partnerships and represent CCSWB to strengthen sustainability impact and reputation. Embed sustainability culture through employee engagement, education, and operational integration. Lead Sustainability Programs & Enterprise Engagement representing CCSWB Lead sustainability initiatives across recycling, packaging, water, energy, and emissions. Build strategic partnerships with community, industry, and government stakeholders. Serve as company spokesperson on sustainability initiatives. Design and drive employee sustainability education and engagement programs. Embed sustainability practices across operations and supply chain. Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Strategy Monitor and interpret environmental and operational regulations impacting the business. Assess impact of regulatory changes on operations, cost, and compliance. Develop proactive compliance and risk mitigation strategies. Partner cross-functionally to ensure regulatory alignment and execution. Maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry bodies. Government Affairs & Lobbying Strategy Execute multi-state lobbying strategy aligned to business and industry priorities. Engage policymakers to influence legislative and regulatory outcomes. Define legislative agendas and advocacy priorities across jurisdictions. Align internal stakeholders to support coordinated advocacy efforts. Adapt lobbying strategies to evolving political and regulatory environments. Legislative Intelligence & Policy Risk Management Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments impacting the industry. Assess policy impact across financial, operational, and reputational dimensions. Identify early-stage risks and opportunities to influence outcomes. Lead rapid response to regulatory, legislative, and enforcement developments. Integrate legislative risk insights into enterprise decision-making. External Relations & Industry Leadership Build relationships with legislators, regulators, and key government stakeholders. Represent CCSWB in hearings, policy forums, and public engagements. Lead participation in industry associations and advocacy coalitions. Coordinate joint advocacy strategies with industry partners. Strengthen CCSWB's reputation as a trusted voice in public policy. Lobbying Governance, PAC & Advocacy Enablement Oversee lobbying compliance, disclosures, and reporting requirements. Ensure alignment with legal, ethical, and corporate governance standards. Lead PAC strategy, including fundraising, engagement, and compliance. Align political contributions with enterprise advocacy priorities. Manage external lobbyists and ensure performance and strategic alignment. Enterprise Risk Management & Business Continuity Identify and prioritize sustainability, regulatory, and operational risks. Execute enterprise risk assessment and monitoring processes. Implement mitigation strategies and early-warning systems. Support business continuity planning and resilience initiatives. Evaluate risk impact to inform investment, planning, and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, Public Policy, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 8-12 years leading sustainability, government affairs, regulatory affairs, public policy, or enterprise risk management.
- Experience in regulated industries (beverage, CPG, manufacturing, distribution).
- Proven success executing multi-state lobbying strategies and navigating U.S. legislative environments.
- Strong track record engaging elected officials, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Experience influencing executive leadership and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- 50% travel required
