Access and Community Engagement/TRiO Programs:

Access and Community Engagement collaborates both internally and with community partners to integrate access and belonging into the University's mission. Utilizing data-informed strategies, we advance educational access and belonging for all students, including those of non-traditional backgrounds such as first-generation college students, military and veteran students, students with disabilities and unique abilities, and students with limited resources. In addition, we facilitate faculty, staff, and student development by creating opportunities for open dialogue and free expression of all viewpoints, thereby fostering civil discourse and creating teaching and learning environments for everyone.

The Opportunity:

Join UCF's TRiO Upward Bound team as a Manager of TRiO Programs, where you'll lead initiatives at Apopka High School and help shape the future of under-resourced youth. The Manager, TRiO Programs is responsible for all facets of the day-to-day administration of the program.

In this highly student-facing role, you'll manage program operations, build meaningful relationships with school and community partners, supervise staff, and ensure grant objectives are successfully achieved. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who excels at coordinating multiple programs and initiatives simultaneously while maintaining strong organization, follow-through and attention to detail.

This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises the implementation of all the conditions presented in the grant proposals and the day-to-day operations (implement, monitor, and evaluate comprehensive services to participants). Establishes operational policies and procedures for the program.

• Develops and implements project & office operations in accordance with requirements of grant via U.S. Department of Education. Supervises, hires, trains, & evaluates Coordinator, Peers, & Academic Coach (including Quarterly Reviews and Annual Performance Reviews).

• Supervises the recruitment and selection of project participants; ensures that eligibility requirements are met as defined by the U.S. Department of Education.

• Develops and facilitates workshops. Manages and develops online modules. Assists Director to develop academic year and summer calendar.

• Supervises the maintenance of all fiscal transactions of the grant. Keeps accurate budget records and completes monthly reconciliations.

• Supervise the coordination and implementation of cultural activities; oversee the planning and implementation of educational activities and the academic and tutoring components of the program.

• Develop and provide staff training and partnership opportunities; facilitates staff and program meetings. Works with other programs that serve first-generation, low-income, underserved populations.

• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, TRiO Programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:

We welcome candidates with any of the following experience:

• Demonstrated success managing programs, projects, or initiatives, including coordinating multiple stakeholders and driving initiatives from concept to completion.

• Experience supervising, coaching, mentoring, or developing staff, student employees, or volunteers.

• Experience overseeing program operations, budgets, reporting, compliance activities, or grant deliverables.

• Demonstrated success in youth development, community outreach, or non-profit education programs.

• Passion for supporting first-generation, college-bound, and under-resourced student populations through educational access and success initiatives.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, adaptable to both student and professional audiences.

• Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Education, Public Administration, or a related field.

• The position is provisional and is grant-funded through August 31, 2027, by the U.S. Department of Education/TRiO. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

• Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
