DUTIES: Lead the architecture and design of scalable, high-performance software systems in Azure Cloud with a platform and AI centric capability. Integrate with AI Models generated via GPT platform to current business driven applications to bring value to business teams. Guide the development team through technical challenges and problem-solving. Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing mindset, continuous integration, deployment practices (CI/CD), application security, and continuous pairing. Lead the development of scalable, high-performance applications using a diverse tech stack. Collaborate with architects, product managers, and other stakeholders to align technical decisions with business goals. Provide technical insights and solutions to business needs, contributing to strategy discussions. Align engineering efforts with broader organizational goals and customer needs. Contribute to the codebase, working on complex and critical features. Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code following industry best practices. Optimize application performance, security, and scalability. Advocate for the use of AI-driven tools and techniques to enhance productivity, optimize workflows, and promote smarter ways of working within the engineering team. Provide both formal and informal feedback, fostering an open feedback culture where constructive feedback is encouraged. Work closely with the Engineering Manager to support career development, offering guidance on both technical and non-technical skills. Mentor engineers in technical decision-making, code quality, debugging techniques, architecture design, and scalability. Encourage the adoption of emerging technologies while supporting hands-on problem-solving and learning opportunities. Promote Test-Driven Development (TDD), ensuring rigorous test coverage using frameworks like NUnit to maintain high code quality and reliability. Lead design reviews and code inspections to enforce engineering standards and best practices across the development lifecycle. Integrate test plans with Azure DevOps pipelines to enforce automated code quality checks, ensuring seamless CI/CD implementation for increased deployment efficiency. Engage with the Architecture Review Council (ARC) to assess and refine application architectures, advocating for reusability of existing components and ensuring smooth integration within the broader IT ecosystem. Utilize SCRUM and AGILE methodologies to drive efficient, iterative development, ensuring alignment between engineering and product teams on feature development, timelines, and deliverables. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, or a related field and 10 years related software development experience. Must also have demonstrated experience with each of the following: (1) Designing/developing multi-tier web applications using ASP.NET (MVC, Web Forms), JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, JSON, HTML, and REST/Web API interfaces; (2) Architecting, developing, and optimizing databases and data solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle PL/SQL, for ETL operations across available datasets, experience working with SSIS packages and ETL technologies; (3) Developing and designing new applications and enhancing existing web applications by delivering new features using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular (including AngularJS), and ASP.NET MVC in an Agile/Scrum environment; (4) Working with CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOps Pipelines and/or tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Octopus Deploy, supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery for automated code deployments; (5) Modernizing legacy web applications by migrating ASP.NET MVC solutions to ASP.NET Core using C#/.NET; (6) Implementing inter-service communication using REST APIs, gRPC, and messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka and Azure Service Bus; (7) Implementing unit testing using xUnit and/or NUnit, including use of mocking frameworks such as Moq and/or NSubstitute, and performing static code analysis using SonarQube; (8) Working closely with Chief Technical Architect and Application Manager, participating in discussions with Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, and Product Managers to determine systems design and program requirements needed to implement changes to the existing systems and new systems in Agile environment which includes participating in sprint planning and retrospective sessions; (9) Working with ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, WCF, SignalR, and REST APIs, including implementing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT for secure authentication/authorization, and designing/documenting APIs using Swagger/OpenAPI; (10) Working with relational RDBMS, particularly Microsoft SQL Server, along with Neo4j, and with GraphQL and Cypher query language; and (11) Working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Pulumi (Pulumi CLI) using TypeScript to provision, manage, and tear down Azure cloud resources.
