Requisition Summary

Peterbilt's Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer focused on truck systems and plant implementation. The successful candidate will be dynamic, driven, and energized to create and own manufacturing processes and infrastructure. Proven experience supporting product launches and working across engineering, operations, and leadership teams is highly desired.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support the execution of truck system and software launches, ensuring readiness for a production environment
  • Provide manufacturing input and support PPAP and factory readiness activities for software releases
  • Maintain familiarity with truck software deployed in production, including MX, Cummins, DAVIE, VEPS, Eaton, Allison, Bendix, Wabco, VECU, CALID/CVN, ELF, Parameters, and EMUX architecture
  • Interface with software providers including Embedded Engineering, MX/DAF, and external suppliers
  • Remain current on upcoming product launches and assess impact to plant processes
  • Communicate regularly with plant management and coordinate plant input and feedback
  • Track, analyze, and report deployment metrics (readiness, defects, FPY) to identify trends and drive Six Sigma continuous improvement
Job Responsibilities Cont.
  • Drive Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and implement countermeasures to improve future truck software deployments
  • Review and approve engineering software and electrical drawings
  • Support and actively participate in the PCP Tollgate process
  • Troubleshoot truck programming and test system failures (DAVIE, VECU, diagnostics tools) and coordinate fixes with Embedded, IT, and suppliers
  • Own PLRs and defect resolution during pilot build events, including root cause analysis, containment, and prevention/detection controls
  • Lead and execute plant pilots manufacturing validation activities, including chassis selection, test planning, and readiness assessment
  • Travel to other PACCAR locations may be required (less than 10%)
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • Seven (7) or more years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Manufacturing, industrial engineering, or designformanufacturability experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead successful projects as a highly motivated selfstarter
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • PACCAR manufacturing operations and PCP Tollgate process
  • Heavy equipment manufacturing
  • Truck programming systems (DAVIE, VEPS, VSP, EMUX architecture)
  • Truck diagnostics tools (DAVIE, Insite, Acom, Service Ranger, Allison, Wabco)
  • Project management methodologies
  • Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred)
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Creo and WindchillKey additions (high impact)
