Position Overview:

The Procurement Lead is responsible for overseeing and directing the purchasing activities across both businesses. This leadership role manages a team of Buyers and ensures the efficient execution of procurement strategies for both direct, indirect materials, Capex and services. The Procurement Lead will coordinate supplier performance, procurement compliance, and procurement transaction execution, while driving alignment with broader Supply Chain and Operational goals including demand planning, scheduling, inventory management, logistics, and engineering coordination.

The ideal candidate will lead by example, foster collaboration across departments, and promote procurement excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management


  • Lead, mentor, and develop the team of Buyers, ensuring consistent execution of MRP, purchasing projects, and procurement best practices.
  • Set performance goals, monitor KPIs, and conduct regular performance reviews to drive accountability and growth within the team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance aligned with company objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction and escalation support for complex purchasing decisions or supplier issues.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration with Planning, Logistics, Operations, Engineering, and Customer Service to align procurement execution with business needs.


Procurement Strategy & Execution


  • Develop and implement local and regional procurement strategies aligned with sourcing policies and corporate objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships, contracts, and support negotiations to optimize cost, quality, service, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead the execution of purchases orders not covered by corporate agreements, including local services, unique materials, and Capex.
  • Oversee the full Capex procurement lifecycle: RFP/RFQ processes, vendor selection, PO creation and maintenance, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and take corrective action when necessary to maintain high service levels.


Operational Oversight & Risk Management


  • Ensure uninterrupted and efficient material and service flow by championing lean procurement processes and automation.
  • Actively monitor market conditions (e.g., port strikes, inflation) to proactively mitigate supply disruptions.
  • Review and approve high-impact procurement activities, including strategic Capex initiatives and major cost-saving projects.


Process Improvement & Compliance


  • Standardize procurement processes and maintain compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and internal audit standards.
  • Leverage ERP and digital procurement tools to improve data accuracy, visibility, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records management for audits, analysis, and transparency.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects, such as new product introductions (e.g., NACP), technology adoption, and supply chain transformation initiatives.

Cross-Functional Support & Communication


  • Partner with senior leadership to support RFP/RFQ processes and strategic sourcing efforts.
  • Collaborate with AP to resolve supplier payment holds and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Support weekend on-call rotations, providing urgent procurement support as needed.
  • Serve as the escalation point and backup support for other procurement teams or site agents.

Qualifications:


  • Superior analytical skills, troubleshooting and judgment skills.
  • Attention to detail and Strong planning and organization
  • Strong PC skills using Microsoft Office Suite - Mastery level Excel skills
  • Demonstrated strong communication and cross-functional collaboration
  • Capable of presenting information to all levels of management with supporting analysis and assumptions.
  • In depth knowledge and experience with various ERP systems, implementation teams, and/or designated power-user.
  • Ability to work in a high volume atmosphere and the ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong Results driven with strong multitasking skills in a fast paced high growth environment.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-starter
  • 3-5 years procurement/supply chain experience, emphasis on sourcing and/or procurement, supply chain related disciplines: planning, scheduling, IBP, and strong analytical skills. Experience in a consumer products business selling through the retail channel a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or operations, required.
  • Experience with Integrated planning systems such as ERP is preferred.


Hours and Pay:

Position is a straight 5-day week, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, and will be based at our facility in Little Chute, WI. We offer a competitive base pay rate and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, hear, use hands to type data, use a personal computer and telephone. This employee may occasionally have to operate business machines and lift and/move up to 50 pounds.
