Job Description

Deposita, an Allied Universal Company, is hiring a Senior Director, Implementation. The Senior Director, Implementation is a commercial operations leader with full ownership of the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and successful delivery of cash recycler implementations for new and existing customers. This position carries direct financial accountability for the implementation portfolio, including project budgets, cost control, and margin performance, and is expected to read, interpret, and act on P&L results as part of daily decision-making.

The Senior Director leads a team of Project Managers ranging from early career to highly experienced and is responsible for developing each of them: building structure, training, and oversight for newer PMs while setting stretch objectives and delegating autonomy to seasoned PMs. This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities and firm customer deadlines; the leader in this role must solve problems quickly, build repeatable processes where none exist, and hold the team accountable to schedule and budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Commercial and Financial Ownership

Own the financial performance of the implementation portfolio: develop project budgets, control costs, monitor margin, and deliver projects within approved budget
  • Read, interpret, and act on P&L statements; identify variances, determine root causes, and drive corrective action; present financial results and forecasts to senior leadership
  • Establish and maintain financial oversight of inventory and services to ensure effective alignment with client goals and objectives

Team Leadership and Development

  • Directly supervise multiple Project Managers with varying levels of experience; adapt coaching, delegation, and oversight to each individual's capability
  • Build onboarding, training, and development plans for early-career Project Managers; set stretch objectives and expanded ownership for experienced Project Managers
  • Communicate project expectations clearly and in a timely fashion; hold team members and contractors accountable for their assigned work; assess staffing needs during the project cycle and recruit as necessary

Implementation Planning and Delivery

  • Plan and schedule cash recycler installation timelines; define project scope, goals, deadlines, milestones, and deliverables for each implementation
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path; proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Coordinate manufacturing partners, training partners, third-party contractors, customers, and Deposita Retail teams to deliver installations that meet customer requirements and are supportable by the Customer Support Centers
  • Conduct customer operating reviews depicting implementation progress, support performance, and metrics; determine the frequency and content of status reporting, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Partner with manufacturing partners, training partners, customers, and Deposita Retail teams to ensure each installed solution meets customer needs and is well supported by our Customer Support Centers. Success is measured by on-time, on-budget delivery, achievement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), financial performance of the implementation portfolio, process adoption, and the development and retention of the project management team

Process Development and Smartsheet Administration

  • Design, build, and administer the team's Smartsheet environment, including project plans, portfolio dashboards, reports, automations, and cross-sheet workflows, serving as the single source of truth for implementation status
  • Develop, document, and scale repeatable implementation processes, playbooks, and tools; drive adoption across the team
  • Conduct project postmortems, identify successful and unsuccessful project elements, and convert findings into process improvements
  • Bring deep hands-on Smartsheet expertise to own the design and administration of the team's Smartsheet project plans, dashboards, reports, and automations

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Must possess one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or a computer technology related field
    • Associate's degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or a computer technology related field with at least nine (9) years of experience in business operations, program/project delivery, or implementation leadership, and four (4) years of related financial and/or process leadership experience

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in business operations, program/project delivery, or implementation leadership within a fast-paced service, technology, or field-installation environment
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct financial or P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost/margin management
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct people leadership, including hiring, developing, and managing project management or delivery professionals
  • Work history must include demonstration of each of the following:
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
    • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
    • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Strong oral, written, and analytical skills
  • Advanced reconciliation skills and understanding of the factors which cause deposit and change order discrepancies
  • Advanced, hands-on proficiency in Smartsheet, including building and administering complex sheets, reports, dashboards, automations, and cross-sheet workflows (critical requirement; candidates will be asked to demonstrate this capability during the interview process)
  • Ability to read and interpret P&L statements and project budgets, and to use financial data in operational decision-making
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop solutions to process and tooling gaps
  • Ability to train, mentor, and impart knowledge to newer and less experienced project managers as well as retail leaders in store and market

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable project management certification
  • Smartsheet product certification
  • Experience implementing cash recyclers, cash automation, or other hardware/technology deployments across distributed retail or customer sites
