*Overview* Our team specializes in telecommunications infrastructure, including land mobile radio systems, in-building wireless solutions (DAS/IDAS), intelligent transportation systems, and physical security technologies.
We are seeking a Wireless Installation Technician to support a growing number of in-building wireless projects throughout the region. This role involves the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of wireless communication systems across a variety of commercial, educational, healthcare, transportation, and government facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience with low-voltage cabling, coaxial and fiber optic installations, rack-and-stack work, cable management, and customer-facing field support. *Location* * Based out of Manassas, VA * Candidates should be located within a reasonable commuting distance of the Manassas area. * Technicians will typically meet at the office each morning and travel to job sites with their team. * Projects may be located throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, DC, and Maryland. Key Responsibilities * Support Lead Technicians during the installation and maintenance of wireless communication systems. * Install, route, terminate, label, and manage various cable types, including coaxial, fiber optic, and Cat5/Cat6 cabling. * Assist with rack-and-stack activities and equipment installation. * Perform basic testing and troubleshooting of cabling and system components. * Maintain installation quality standards consistent with manufacturer specifications and project requirements. * Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. * Interact professionally with customers and project stakeholders at job sites. * Assist with deployments in a variety of environments, including hospitals, schools, office buildings, stadiums, transportation facilities, and multi-family residential properties. * Maintain organized work areas and proper tool management. * Deliver high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service. Top Skills Details * 2+ years of experience with low-voltage cable installation. * Experience installing and supporting coaxial, fiber optic, and network cabling systems. * Familiarity with rack-and-stack installations, cable dressing, labeling, and terminations. * Basic testing and troubleshooting experience with fiber and coaxial cabling. * Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. * Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude. * Ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Reliable transportation. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). * Experience working with 1/2" coaxial cable. * Familiarity with wireless infrastructure equipment and components. * Experience performing DAS-related testing, including PIM and sweep testing. Schedule & Travel * Full-time schedule consisting of four 10-hour shifts (Monday-Thursday). * Typical start time: 5:00-6:00 AM * Typical end time: 3:00-4:00 PM * Additional hours may be available on Fridays based on project needs. * Occasional regional travel may be required, including limited overnight stays. * Candidates should be comfortable working on projects throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. Work Environment * Work alongside small field teams consisting of a lead technician and supporting technicians. * Projects are completed in a variety of commercial, educational, healthcare, transportation, and residential environments. * Hands-on field work involving cable installation, equipment mounting, testing, troubleshooting, and system support. * Opportunity to learn new technologies and develop advanced telecommunications installation skills. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manassas, VA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
