ComTech provides services for the entire campus as well as remote campus sites within Wake County and the
CMAST facility in Morehead City. Services to faculty, staff, and students include voice, voice messaging, long distance, data circuits, collaboration tools, and maintenance of all related telecommunications equipment and infrastructure.
ComTech is responsible for the management and operations of the enterprise critical IT facilities including data centers . The communications environment consists of approximately 12,000 phone lines long with almost 100,000 network ports over more than 43,000 faceplates. |

| Essential Job Duties |
Play a key role in supporting the daily operations of NC State's Communication Technologies team (ComTech). As the Administrative Assistant/Office Manager for ComTech and other
OIT units as needed, you will provide high-level administrative support to department leadership while helping ensure efficient office operations, effective communication, and exceptional service for staff and campus partners. Your work will directly support the Assistant Vice Chancellor and leadership team, enabling them to focus on advancing the university's technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Executive & Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Assistant Vice Chancellor and four direct reports, including managing complex calendars, coordinating meetings, preparing correspondence, and performing a variety of administrative and clerical functions.
- Coordinate meeting logistics and scheduling with campus stakeholders to support efficient communication and collaboration.
Office Operations & Team Support
- Manage day-to-day office operations, including coordinating travel arrangements, office supply purchasing, and administrative support for departmental HR-related processes.
- Provide administrative support for ComTech and other OIT units as needed to help ensure smooth departmental operations.
Communication & Customer Service
- Serve as a resource for department staff by responding to inquiries, directing requests to the appropriate resources, and providing responsive, professional customer service.
- Utilize office productivity and collaboration tools to support communications, maintain information, and perform routine updates to departmental web content.

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience providing executive-level administrative support, including managing complex calendars, coordinating meetings, and arranging travel for senior leaders.
- Experience supporting office operations in a higher education, information technology, or similarly complex administrative environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Forms) and experience maintaining or updating web content.
- Experience coordinating administrative processes related to travel, purchasing, office operations, or human resources.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
