This position is located at the Institute of Marine Sciences in Morehead City, NC. The selected candidate is expected to be on site full time for the position at the coast for lab and field work.

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Department of Earth, Marine and Environmental Sciences ( EMES) and the Institute of Marine Sciences at UNC-CH advances understanding of the earth and ocean processes that govern our planet, shape diverse ecosystems, sustain life, and drive environmental change. Position Summary
The Nye lab is looking for a technician to conduct research on the effects of temperature and other environmental factors on fish and marine ecosystems. Specific duties include conducting experiments on temperature tolerance in fishes, animal husbandry, field collection of animals, participation in oceanographic cruises, data analysis, field gear maintenance, lab organization, ordering supplies and basic lab maintenance.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Management Preferences
Experience with marine and environmental studies. Must have valid driver's license.
