The University of Georgia Facilities Management Division is the largest of seven (7) divisions reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. The exceptional staff of over 900 personnel within the division manage, operate and maintain campus landscapes, buildings and infrastructure to promote the long-term sustainability of the University.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent and 8 years of professional experience

Preferred Qualifications
Five years of supervisory experience and five years of experience working in a maintenance facility are preferred.
Position Summary

This position directs the activities of the Central Campus Zone Shop. This position oversees 10-14 semi-skilled and skilled trade employees including HVAC technicians, plumbers, maintenance workers, electricians, carpenters, painters, and skilled trades workers. This shop is responsible for responding to trouble calls in the buildings within the central area of the University.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Knowledge of computer-based work order management system.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and other computer applications.
  • Knowledge of ordering job materials and accounting for job labor and material costs.
  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling multiple work assignments and projects.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment that includes a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce procedures.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgment's.

Physical Demands

Although this is a supervisory position, foreman is expected to meet standard physical requirements of the construction trades. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, crawl, squat, work from standard or extended ladder.
