Inventory Associate

As an Inventory Associate, you will play a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting efficient warehouse operations at our Westbrook, Maine facility. This is a first-shift role working onsite Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. The Worldwide Operations team ensures IDEXX products are delivered to customers accurately and on time through a global network focused on quality, efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Why does this role matter? Accurate inventory is essential to serving veterinarians and the animals they care for around the world. In this role, you will help maintain inventory integrity through cycle counting, discrepancy investigations, and inventory movement coordination while supporting the warehouse operations that keep products flowing to customers. You'll work in a collaborative environment where attention to detail, problem-solving, and operational excellence directly contribute to IDEXX's success.

• You will execute cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy across warehouse locations and off-site storage facilities.

• You will investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and support corrective actions to ensure inventory records remain accurate and reliable.

• You will utilize SAP and other inventory management systems to process inventory transactions, monitor inventory movements, and maintain accurate documentation.

• You will operate forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and other power industrial equipment while following established safety practices.

• You will support inbound and outbound inventory movements, including transfers between IDEXX facilities and external storage locations.

• You will monitor and count inventory within ambient and cold storage environments to ensure inventory accuracy across all storage areas.

• You will troubleshoot inventory and operational issues and partner with colleagues to identify and implement effective solutions.

• You will coordinate inventory pulls and support the timely resolution of short-picked or missing products.

• You will collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to improve inventory processes, accuracy, and overall efficiency.

• You will maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment that supports daily operations.

• You will regularly use warehouse technology, including computers, handheld scanners, and inventory systems, to support inventory management activities.

• You will spend time standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, and moving throughout the warehouse while completing inventory-related tasks.

• You will safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 70 pounds as part of daily warehouse operations.

• You have experience performing cycle counting and inventory control activities in a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or supply chain environment (required).

• You have experience investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies and reconciling inventory records (required).

• You have experience using SAP or a comparable warehouse or inventory management system (required).

• You have previous experience operating forklifts or other power industrial equipment (required).

• You have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in a warehouse, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution environment (required).

• You are comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced operational environment (required).

• You demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and quality (required).

• You are able to work in a warehouse environment that includes ambient and temperature-controlled storage areas (required).

• You are able to stand and walk for extended periods and perform frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, and other physical movements needed to count, inspect, and move inventory (required).

• You are able to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 70 pounds (required).

• You are able to meet the visual demands of the role, including close vision, color recognition, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus when inspecting products, inventory labels, and warehouse equipment (required).

• You have experience supporting inventory movements across multiple warehouse locations or off-site storage facilities (preferred).

• You have experience working in a regulated manufacturing, distribution, or materials management environment (preferred).

• You have experience identifying and implementing process improvements that improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency (preferred).

• This is a full-time (40 hr/wk) first shift position with hours Monday-Friday, 7:00am- 3:30pm.

• Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.

• Hourly rates targeting: $20.00 - $24.00 / hr (with flexibility dependent on skillset and experience)
