Valora Orono, a new Lifespark Senior Living Community, is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our growing team!

Valora Orono is nestled in the pristine Orono community, just minutes from the charm of downtown Wayzata, Lake Minnetonka, and Long Lake. Our community is conveniently located on Kelley Parkway in Orono. We are just a short drive from downtown Wayzata and Long Lake, easily accessible from US-12 / I-394. We help seniors Age Magnificently in our 72- unit apartment-style community providing Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services. Join our team today!



Position: Cook/Chef

Hourly Wage: $17.50 - $22.50 hourly, depending on experience

Service Area: 2635 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356

Schedule: Full-time, 1.0 FTE (requirement: must work every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday)

Position Duties & Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for preparing food in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations.


Duties include:


  • Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portions, and temperature control procedures.


  • Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.


  • Check all trays for menu and diet requirements and preference and accuracy.


  • Ensure proper storage for food and supplies.


  • Review and process diet changes and ensure menus are maintained and followed in accordance with established procedures.




Preferred Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.


  • Experience in a senior living setting is preferred.


  • Must be able to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident's families, and employees.


  • Must possess advanced computer skills, including email use.
