| Job Description |
ECU Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness is currently seeking several Fitness Attendants.
Join our dynamic team at Campus Recreation and Wellness (
CRW) as a Fitness Attendant!
CRW is dedicated to enhancing the recreation and wellness lifestyles of the
ECU community through structured, self-directed, and educationally oriented programs. We aim to foster responsible citizenship, provide leadership experiences, and promote lifelong skills for physical, social, emotional, and mental well-being. Supporting the Division of Student Affairs' commitment to purposeful well-being.
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Provide a world-class member experience with exercise education, equipment orientations, answering member questions, and managing emergencies
- Maintain and clean fitness equipment according to standards and protocols
- Utilize necessary software applications for facility operations
- Apply risk management strategies to protect everyone and minimize liability
- Identify and report potential hazards to ensure a safe environment
- Enhance your skills through professional development and training
- Use effective communication techniques with members and guests
- Adapt to various personality styles and backgrounds when assisting members
- Incorporate feedback to improve professionalism and future experiences
- Apply exercise science knowledge to assist members during workouts
- Perform other duties as assigned

| Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) |
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of fitness equipment and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team for a minimum of 6 hours per week
- Must be CPR/First Aid/AED certified or able to obtain certification within 60 days of hire
- Flexible work availability, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and ECU sanctioned breaks
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
