Water/Wastewater Project Manager

Primary Responsibilities:

HDR's Water/Wastewater Project Manager will: direct and coordinate the work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project's lifecycle from development and initiation to close-out, for various water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping systems, distribution systems, and/or collection systems projects; establish and maintain client relations, and participate in marketing, contractual design, and production meetings; conduct concept, design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Engineers, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines; serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in water and wastewater engineering projects, performing assignments and resolving issues of greater scope and complexity; prepare analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater treatment, pumping, and distribution and collection systems; prepare detailed plans and specifications for water and wastewater systems and determine appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection; prepare and analyze process and hydraulic calculations; track financial aspects of projects and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters for agreed-to budget and schedule; work closely with the Area Manager, Water Business Group Manager, Water Program Managers, Section Managers, Accounting, Operational, and Business leadership for project reviews; perform quality control reviews of completed designs; and review work of and mentor junior engineers and technical staff as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 3 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering or a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering field and 5 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
  • Experience must include experience in: water/wastewater infrastructure projects; water quality analysis; biological treatment processes and systems; physical and chemical treatment processes and systems; statistical analysis; AutoCAD Civil 3D; Revu BlueBeam; Revit; and Microsoft Office.
  • Must hold Professional Engineer (PE) license (from any US jurisdiction) or must have passed Professional Engineering licensure examination.
  • NOTE: All HDR positions in the US may be subject to background checks and/or pre-employment drug testing.
