The Install Technician supports Reliable Plus installation projects by installing, assembling, troubleshooting and optimizing vehicle wash equipment at customer locations throughout the Midwest. Successful technicians combine mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability and attention to detail to deliver high-quality installations and resolve issues in the field. This role requires independent thinking, professionalism with customers and the ability to adapt when installation conditions do not go exactly as planned.

This position is best suited for candidates who enjoy mechanical work, equipment assembly and problem solving. Candidates should be comfortable using tools and working through technical challenges in the field.

Travel is a significant component of this role. Technicians can expect overnight travel most weeks, typically up to three consecutive nights, throughout the Midwest.



  • Assist lead technicians and senior technicians with installation of vehicle wash equipment at customer sites
  • Learn and perform installation tasks including mechanical assembly, electrical connections and equipment setup
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Follow all safety procedures and Reliable Plus job site standards
  • Maintain clean, organized and safe job sites during installation projects
  • Assist with equipment modifications, adjustments and upgrades as required
  • Load, unload and move equipment and materials needed for installations
  • Support reading basic installation drawings, layouts and measurements
  • Maintain tools, equipment and company provided vehicles in good working condition
  • Communicate professionally with customers, teammates and supervisors on job sites
  • Take notes and apply training to learn installation procedures and technical processes
  • Travel to customer locations across the Midwest including frequent overnight stays (50-60% overnight travel)
  • Work both independently and as part of an installation team
  • Participate in continuous learning to build technical knowledge and installation expertise



Education: High School Diploma or GED required

Experience and/or Training:



  • Experience in construction or maintenance using hand and power tools
  • Ability to interpret drawings and perform basic mechanical assembly


Licenses/Certificates:



  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to read basic measurements and follow installation instructions
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to travel weekly including 3 nights of overnight travel each week
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 75 lbs


  • 3+ years installation, service, maintenance, or applicable trade experience
  • Previous experience in equipment installation, mechanical work or construction
  • Technical training or coursework related to mechanical or electrical systems
  • Experience working in field service or installation environments
  • Forklift operation experience



Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands:

Frequent standing, climbing ladders and working on uneven surfaces. Ability to lift equipment up to 75 lbs and maneuver installation materials. Work performed at customer job sites indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Frequent travel required including overnight stays.

The anticipated hiring range for the role you are applying for is between $25 and $37 hourly. This anticipated hiring range is based on several factors, and subject to increase based on the below:
