Summary:

The Vice President - Communication and Public Affairs role is responsible for the development of long-term and short term strategic and integrated communication strategies across MaineHealth's Southern Region, which included Maine Medical Center, Portland, as well as Maine Medical Center's Sanford and Biddeford campuses. The Vice President will work with MaineHealth senior leadership and key stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into internal communication, community engagement and public relations plans for the Southern Region; ensuring consistency across the region and the system. The Vice President will provide direction, supervision and guidance to MaineHealth Communication & Public Affairs teams in developing those communication priorities that support system and local objectives. The Vice President will establish and manage organizational crisis action planning and execution through diverse, inclusive, and transparent communication practices and position the organization for strategic visibility, growth, and engagement with key stakeholders.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree required, Masters a Plus with an emphasis in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or related field preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Ten years of progressive experience in marketing, planning, communications, public relations, market research, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience in a healthcare setting. Project/process management, account management or related capabilities a plus. Ten years supervisory experience required
