Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Supply Chain Data Scientist to lead the development of a scalable Planning Analytics and Automation capability that enables data-driven decision-making across a complex, global supply chain.

This role is accountable for defining the strategy, standards, and roadmap for planning analytics, transforming fragmented data environments into integrated, enterprise-level solutions that support SIOP and operational execution.

The role combines deep expertise in advanced analytics, data engineering, and supply chain processes to translate ambiguous business challenges into scalable analytical frameworks, predictive models, and system-enabled decision support tools.

This leader will drive cross-functional alignment, partner with IT to operationalize solutions, and ensure that analytics capabilities are embedded into planning processes and business decisions-not just delivered as standalone outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning Analytics Strategy & Capability Development

  • Lead the development of the Planning Analytics & Automation capability, defining standards, tools, and roadmap to scale analytics across the global supply chain.

  • Establish and standardize data models, KPIs, and planning metrics to ensure consistency and comparability across sites and functions.

  • Identify and prioritize high-impact use cases to improve planning performance, decision speed, and visibility across SIOP and execution.

  • Drive adoption of analytics tools and insights across planning, operations, and leadership teams.

Data Automation & Process Transformation

  • Lead transformation of fragmented, manual planning processes into scalable, automated analytics workflows.

  • Define and implement scalable data pipelines and data models integrating ERP, planning systems, and external data sources.

  • Drive standardization of data flows and reduce dependency on manual data manipulation and spreadsheets.

  • Partner with IT to ensure analytics solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture and scalable for global deployment.

Advanced Analytics, Modeling & Decision Support

  • Design and deploy predictive and prescriptive models to support supply chain decision-making, including Demand forecasting and signal consumption, Inventory optimization and policy setting, Capacity, backlog, and shortage modeling, and Supplier performance and risk analytics.

  • Lead scenario planning and what-if analysis to support SIOP and executive decision-making.

  • Provide structured analysis of trade-offs across supply, demand, cost, and service.

  • Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders.

Enterprise Integration & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional alignment across Planning, Operations, Procurement, Logistics, Finance, and IT to define requirements and embed analytics into business processes.

  • Serve as the bridge between business and technology, ensuring solutions are practical, adopted, and sustained.

  • Partner with IT to deploy models, dashboards, and workflows into production environments with enterprise-grade performance and governance.

  • Guide and mentor analysts or planners (formal or informal leadership) in applying analytics tools and standardized approaches.

Data Governance & Standards Ownership

  • Own data governance for planning analytics, including Data quality standards, Metric definitions, and Reporting consistency across sites.

  • Establish frameworks for data validation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise data platforms, security, and compliance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in: Python or R, SQL (data extraction, transformation, performance optimization), and Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.

  • Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes (demand, supply planning, production, inventory, logistics).

  • Demonstrated ability to design and deploy scalable analytics solutions, not just one-off analyses.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving adoption of analytics tools and processes.

  • Strong ability to translate complex data into business insights and executive-level recommendations.

  • Experience working with enterprise data environments, including ERP systems and cross-functional datasets.

  • Experience with supply chain planning systems (Kinaxis, SAP IBP, or similar).

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, Snowflake).

  • Experience integrating analytics across ERP, planning systems, and data platforms.

  • Experience supporting SIOP / IBP or executive decision forums.

  • Experience building or scaling analytics capabilities in a transformation environment.

Skills:

Communication, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Data Analysis, Data Reporting, Data Science, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Inventory Logistics, Supply Chain, Supply Chain Inventory Management, Supply Chain Logistics

Education & Experience:

Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience| Required
