What You Will Do:
Define and govern enterprise network security architecture, standards, and control frameworks. Lead security design for large-scale initiatives including cloud transformations, M&A integrations, and critical infrastructure. Act as a trusted advisor on network security risk, compliance, and audit readiness. Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure end-to-end secure solutions. Drive proactive lifecycle, vulnerability, and resiliency improvements across network security platforms. Influence technology roadmaps, investment decisions, and longterm security posture. Knowledge of OT/ICS/SCADA environments from the network security perspective, including Purdue zoning, and segregation techniques between business and operational networks. Support application teams in designing redundant, high-availability architectures with failover and recovery capabilities. Manage and maintain load balancer and network security infrastructure, including upgrades, patching, and integration. Ensure network security infrastructure complies with Enbridge policies and industry best practices across enterprise, SCADA, and control systems environments. Lead and support business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives, while participating in on-call rotation and maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence.
Who You Are:
Related university degree OR a two-year technical diploma with 6+ years of experience in network security architecture and enterprise infrastructure. Proven expertise Load Balancing technologies, such as Citrix Netscalers and F5 BigIP, as well Azure Front Door. Proven expertise in firewalls, IPS, WAF, PKI, DNS, encryption technologies, and cloud security solutions. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, protocols, OSI model, and secure application design with multi-layered security approaches. Knowledgeable in UNIX environments and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python). Demonstrated strength in regulatory compliance, audit readiness, risk management, and detailed technical documentation. Excellent understanding of designing, building, maintaining load balancer infrastructure. Solid understanding of core network security components including firewalls, DNS, and encryption technologies (SSL/TLS, PKI, OpenSSL, ciphers). Good understanding of Authentication mechanisms, such as SLDAP, RADIUS, SAML (including Multi Factor Authentication). Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence through technical expertise.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced, high-pressure environment with strict operational deadlines. Mix of office-based work with occasional field or infrastructure-related activities. Participation in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends, and availability during emergencies. We will not be able to provide visa sponsorship support for this position.
Salary Ranges from $95,000 - $125,000 CAD for Ontario locations based upon candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates. Physical Requirements include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
