Position Overview:

This position is responsible for greeting patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Ensure all appropriate forms are complete, accurate, and signed according to company guidelines. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff. Supports and adheres to the Cancer Care Northwest Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors into the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. Obtains all appropriate forms as required.
  • Obtains demographic and insurance information. Obtains copy of patient's insurance cards and current driver's license for file. Updates demographic and insurance information as needed in the system.
  • Collects co-pays, deductible and other out of pocket amounts at time of visit based on the Over-the-Counter collections provided by the financial counselor.
  • Performs end-of-day financial close-out.
  • Maintains lobby and coffee area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Identifies no shows and forwards for patient notification process.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
  • Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office. Covers for other front office functions as requested.
  • Prepares correspondence, memos, forms and other typing as requested by supervisor.
  • Performs end-of-day financial closeout, ensuring all collections are accounted for and are balanced with the deposit report. Prepares this to be sent to CBO.
  • Performs all other duties/responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Formal Education, Certification/Licensure, and Prior Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have:

  • a High School Diploma or a General Education Degree
  • Minimum three (3) years' customer service in an office setting

It is preferred that an individual has: previous medical office experience

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly: sit, grasp, reach, talk and hear
  • Occasionally: stand, bend, stoop/crouch, walk, lift up to 30 pounds, pull/push up to 30 pounds, and carry up to 30 pounds
  • Vision: clearly see up to 5 feet with or without corrective lenses

Work Environment: While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will not be exposed to any workplace environmental conditions caused by extreme noise, heat, cold, workplace hazards, atmospheric dust/fumes/vapors/mists, pathogens, or toxic chemicals.

Salary DOE $18.38 - $25.73
