Position Summary The Staff Nurse I provides direct patient care and takes the initiative to improve patient outcomes by integrating Shared Leadership, Evidence Based Practice, Relationship Based Care, and standards of nursing excellence into clinical practice. This position integrates professional practice model, current standards of practice and clinical experience to provide "quality" patient care as measured by established nursing quality standards and other governing/accrediting health care bodies. The Staff Nurse I engages and obtains information from patient and/or family to advocate for the patient, develops an appropriate patient educational plan, and responds to patient's changing needs while sharing information and collaborating with other members of the health care team to promote effective patient care. The Staff Nurse I participates in organizational, departmental, and shared leadership activities; supports department and unit goals in daily behavior. Duties & Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications 1. Eligibility for licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation. 2. 3 - 5 years relevant Level II or higher NICU experience including neonatal stabilization and resuscitation experience at time of infant delivery. 3. Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program 4. Current BLS/CPR and/or other required unit specific certifications. 5. STABLE Program completion 3. Effective communication skills (oral and written) that facilitate therapeutic relationships between patients, family, and healthcare providers. 4. Intermediate computer skills with the ability to become proficient in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with on-the job training 5. Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills and work history required. Preferred Qualification
Work Schedule 1. 32hrs per 4 week schedule 2. 25% of all shift availability must be on evenings or nights 3. Weekends; 16 hours minimum per 4 week schedule 4.
