Oncology Liaison

Full-Time | Hybrid Schedule (Field-Based with Occasional Onsite Meetings and Remote Work) | Monday-Friday

We are seeking a highly motivated Oncology Liaison to serve as a key connector between our practice and referring providers in our region. In this role, you will build and strengthen physician relationships while executing strategic initiatives that directly impact patient access and practice growth.

Job Summary

The Oncology Liaison is a strategic sales professional who builds and strengthens relationships with referring physicians to drive meaningful practice growth. In this role, you will lead territory development (Winchester/Northern Shenandoah Valley) through targeted outreach, data-driven planning, and collaboration with physicians and leadership to expand market presence. This is an opportunity to make a direct impact by connecting providers, enhancing access to care, and supporting the continued growth of a patient-focused oncology practice

  • Growth in new patient referrals and overall patient volume

Compensation

$85,000 - $109,000 + performance-based bonus plan. The actual hiring rate will vary based on experience, education, and demonstrated performance.

Mileage & Travel Reimbursement

  • Mileage is reimbursed for business travel between provider locations
  • Reimbursement begins at the first business stop of the day through the final stop
  • Travel from a Shenandoah Oncology location to field visits is also covered
  • Commuting mileage is not eligible for reimbursement

Responsibilities

  • Drive territory growth by executing targeted sales and marketing strategies to increase referrals and expand physician relationships
  • Proactively engage non-oncology providers and key staff using a consultative approach to identify needs and position oncology services
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with referring physicians and healthcare partners
  • Develop and execute outreach plans, presentations, and initiatives to grow referral networks and meet business objectives
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and regional dynamics; share insights with leadership and identify growth opportunities
  • Partner with physicians and leadership to support referral development, community engagement, and outreach activities
  • Address provider feedback promptly and collaborate with operational leaders to resolve issues and improve experience
  • Maintain accurate reporting and business planning through CRM tools, sales metrics, and expense management
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in business or health and at least five (5) years healthcare marketing or three (3) healthcare service sales experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and databases.
  • Ability to be successful with a consultative selling model.
  • Ability to understand business intelligence reporting and impact of growth initiatives on practice*s financial viability.
  • Proven ability to prioritize opportunities and convert it into a successful sale for developing and maintaining existing business.
  • Comfortable delivering presentations and good relationship skills.

Travel

This role requires significant regional travel, with approximately 75-80% of time spent in the field visiting referring providers across a multi-state territory. The Liaison is expected to conduct around 40 provider visits per week (based on unique locations) and will also participate in community outreach and occasional after-hours events. Travel schedules vary based on territory needs and market coverage.

Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Work Environment
The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require travel by automobile approximately 50% of work week. Sales development people regularly work outside the office in order to call on customers to make sales.
