* Lead coverage during severe weather and other high-impact weather events, including providing urgent updates that interrupt regular programming when necessary
* Create weather content for broadcast, digital, streaming, and social media platforms
* Research, write, and produce enterprise weather stories that will be part of weather specials throughout the year
* Use the latest forecasting technology
* Represent KOMU 8 at community events, school visits, public appearances, and station promotions
* Maintain an active social media presence that engages viewers before, during, and after weather events
* Collaborate with our team of meteorologists, reporters, producers, and newsroom leaders
* Work alongside and mentor meteorology and journalism students through coaching, critiques, and hands-on newsroom training
* Be available to work extended hours and adjust schedules as needed during severe weather and major breaking weather events
* Be willing to do live reports during major weather events and/or station sponsored events
* Perform other duties as assigned

Weather is one of the most important commitments we make to our viewers. Our audience relies on KOMU 8 during severe weather and for everyday forecasts. You'll join an experienced, collaborative weather team with the tools and support needed to produce award-winning coverage while growing your career.
