Job Description

This position is responsible for implementing, testing, maintaining, and supporting Identity Management (IdM) applications and services that enable secure and efficient access across the University.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Act as a tier 3 point of contact for resolving difficult problems that affect how people sign in or access systems. Working with IT Pros, Help Desks, Information Security Officers, students and employees from all University business units/campuses to quickly investigate issues, explain what's happening in clear terms, and restore access.
- Collaborate with the Identity management team in maintaining the systems that track who have access to what across the organization. Make sure accounts and group memberships are correctly set up when people join, updated as roles change, and promptly removed when no longer needed to keep information secure and organized.
- Assist employees and students so they can easily and safely access systems using a single login and extra security steps when needed. Support the setup and ongoing management of these features so users have the right access while keeping information protected.
- Collaborate with the Identity management team to introduce and roll out new approaches to better protect accounts and control access to systems. Work with users and departments to make these changes smooth and easy to understand, ensuring everyone stays secure while minimizing disruption to their daily work, such as Phish resistant MFA and conditional access policies.
- Review and test changes to account and access systems to make sure everything works as expected before they are rolled out. Confirm that new features or updates are easy to use, function correctly, and don't disrupt users' ability.
- Create and maintain up-to-date instructions and reference materials that explain how account and access management work. Ensure information is easy to understand so users and support staff can quickly find answers and use systems effectively.
- Evaluate and coordinate requests for exceptions when standard account access rules need to be adjusted. Ensure these requests are appropriate, well-documented, and carefully approved to balance user needs with security.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and a minimum of two years experience in information technology is required.
  • Depending on competency level, technical skills will range from familiarity to a solid expertise with the specific business applications/programs. Increased competency with certain business applications/programs may be acquired through a certification or formal training program, offered by the vendor or other commercial training source.
  • Familiarity with desktop software applications, operating systems, and hardware may be required, depending on the business unit where the position is located.
  • Understand the workflow and process requirements of business units related to the application
  • Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service, be a good listener and work well with a diverse group of customers
  • Demonstrated ability to be the subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills, knowledge of analytical tools, and complex troubleshooting methods
  • Ability to work through ambiguous work situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Hands-on experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding attention to detail with superior time and project management skills
  • Adept at reading, writing and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals
  • Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $53,976.00 - $86,632.00 Commensurate with experience
