Position Summary

The Shop & Field Operations Coordinator is a hands-on, shop-focused position responsible for coordinating, fabricating, and supporting the production and service of conveyor belting, hydraulic hoses, industrial rubber products, and related customer projects. While this role includes project coordination, scheduling, and communication with customers and internal teams, the majority of the position is spent working in the shop alongside technicians.

This is not an office-only position. Approximately 75-80% of the job is performed in the shop environment, assisting with production, fabrication, inventory, and customer orders involving both lightweight and heavyweight conveyor belting, hydraulic hose assembly, and industrial rubber products. The remaining time is dedicated to project coordination, customer communication, and administrative responsibilities.

The ideal candidate enjoys being active, solving problems, working with their hands, and helping keep shop operations running efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Shop Operations (Primary Focus)
  • Work daily in the shop assisting with production and fabrication

Coordinate and support fabrication of:

  • Lightweight conveyor belting
  • Heavyweight conveyor belting
  • Hydraulic hose assemblies
  • Industrial rubber products
  • Assist technicians with preparing materials, staging jobs, and organizing work orders.
  • Ensure projects move efficiently from receipt through completion.
  • Monitor shop workflow and communicate priorities to maximize productivity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory control.
  • Operate shop equipment safely following company procedures.
  • Support field service crews with material preparation and logistics.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate customer projects from order entry through completion.
  • Track project status and communicate updates to sales, customers, and management.
  • Review customer orders for completeness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate materials, vendors, and outside services as required.
  • Expedite orders to meet customer deadlines.
  • Help ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within customer expectations.

Customer Support

  • Work directly with Account Managers and customers to identify product needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone.
  • Assist with quotations, order entry, and project documentation.
  • Help resolve customer issues quickly and professionally.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Industrial, mechanical, fabrication, warehouse, or shop experience preferred.
  • Experience with conveyor belting, hydraulic hoses, industrial rubber products, or related industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 75 pounds, with heavier items moved using team lifts or equipment.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on concrete floors for extended periods.
  • Frequently use hand and power tools.
  • Work safely around industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Occasionally assist with field service work and customer site visits.
  • Work in varying shop temperatures and industrial environments.

Important Note

This is primarily a shop-based position. Applicants should expect to spend the majority of their workday actively participating in shop operations involving lightweight and heavyweight conveyor belting, hydraulic hose assembly, and industrial rubber products.
