JOB SUMMARY
The Sales and Service Specialist is a sales-focused, client-facing role responsible for deepening client relationships, identifying more complex needs, and recommending appropriate BankUnited products, services, and solutions. This role performs both service line and platform activities while serving as a role model for strong sales behaviors, service delivery, operational soundness, and risk management. The Sales and Service Specialist converts routine transactions into meaningful client conversations, supports individual, branch, and market performance, and helps source and deliver client conversations inside and outside the branch to expand relationship opportunities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Proactively identifies client needs through effective questions, active listening, and plain-language explanations; recommends appropriate BankUnited products, services, and solutions to support client goals, deepen relationships, and grow share of wallet. * Supports National Title Solutions, BankUnited's title-related banking support function, by assisting with routine client servicing needs, account maintenance, and related follow-up to help deliver a seamless client experience. * Serves as a sales and service role model by demonstrating strong relationship-building behaviors, personalizing interactions, following through on commitments, and helping team members recognize opportunities to deepen client relationships. * Converts routine service transactions into relationship-building conversations by educating clients, uncovering additional needs, making quality referrals, opening accounts, and expanding product and service usage. * Meets or exceed elevated individual and branch expectations by generating quality referrals, opening and processing accounts, promoting appropriate deposit, loan, credit, non-credit, and fee income solutions, and supporting market and branch sales initiatives. * Leads by example in outbound calling, appointment setting, client follow-up, campaign execution, and sourcing and delivering client conversations inside and outside the branch to help drive consistent sales activity and pipeline discipline. * Collaborates with internal business lines and connects clients with the appropriate team member or specialist to deliver the BankUnited One Bank Experience and fully support the client's needs. * May provide support to other line-of-business functions, as needed, by helping resolve routine client needs, coordinating follow-up, and reinforcing a consistent, exceptional client experience across BankUnited * Creates a strong first impression by greeting clients professionally, confirming understanding of their needs, resolving routine and moderately complex issues with patience and respect, and staying connected through appropriate follow-up. * Educates clients on convenient service options and alternative channels, including ATM, online banking, mobile banking, and other available tools, when appropriate, to help clients bank with confidence and ease. * Accurately performs and records service transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, account maintenance, cashier's checks, safe deposit box transactions, ATM and night depository processing, and other routine branch activities. * Maintains operational soundness by verifying client information, examining checks for endorsements, placing holds as appropriate, balancing cash drawers, currency, coin, checks, ATM, and night depository transactions, and following all required controls. * Completes assigned work accurately and on time, uses available tools to manage daily tasks, and maintain strong knowledge of products, policies, procedures, systems, and regulations related to the role. * Adheres to Bank policies, procedures, and applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including requirements related to anti-money laundering, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, suspicious activity reporting, and required training. * Supports branch operations and leadership needs by cross-training platform and service line activities, assisting clients whenever possible, ordering or counting cash when assigned, and assisting other branch team members and partners when needed. Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training. Identifies and reports suspicious activity. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
* No direct supervisory responsibilities; provides informal leadership, daily support, and coaching to branch team members and assists the Assistant Branch Leader as needed. QUALIFICATIONS
Education
* HS Diploma or GED required Experience
* Minimum of 1-2 years of branch banking, cash handling, platform, or related financial services experience preferred. * Demonstrated client service, sales, referral, risk management, and cash operations experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Advanced knowledge of branch banking operations, branch transaction procedures, cash handling, balancing, negotiable instruments, branch controls, compliance requirements, and risk management practices. * Strong sales acumen with demonstrated ability to uncover client needs, recommend appropriate solutions, deepen relationships, leverage One Bank partner referrals, and contribute to branch and market sales goals. * Ability to lead consultative client conversations using effective discovery questions, active listening, financial insight, and confident recommendations that improve the overall client experience. * Working knowledge of consumer and business deposit products, digital banking solutions, fee income opportunities, and One Bank referral processes for credit, lending, treasury, and investment-related solutions, as applicable. * Ability to identify higher-value relationship opportunities, make effective One Bank warm handoffs, track referral activity, and follow through with partners and clients to support successful outcomes and long-term relationship building. * Strong client experience skills with the ability to resolve routine issues, anticipate client needs, communicate clearly, and create confidence through professional, knowledgeable, and proactive service. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing operational and sales priorities, follow-up on commitments, maintain accuracy, and support performance in a fast-paced branch environment. * Ability to use branch systems, digital tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business applications to complete transactions, document activity, track referrals, and support client needs.
