As a Mission Critical Communication Solutions Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the performance, functionality, and conformance of our mission-critical ecosystem. Your primary focus will be on validating and verifying the UE and gNB systems, as well as the MCC mission communication center (OAM). With hands-on experience in 3GPP standards and test tools, you will execute comprehensive tests, analyze results, and collaborate with development teams to enhance our products.
- Plan, execute, and document test cases for 5G NR UE and gNB systems in SA modes.
- Perform protocol, performance, and functional testing based on 3GPP TS 38.xxx standards.
- Validate Layer 1 (PHY), Layer 2 (MAC/RLC/PDCP), and Layer 3 (RRC/NGAP) signaling and procedures.
- Utilize test tools such as Keysight UXM, Rohde & Schwarz, Anritsu, Viavi, or Spirent for test scenarios.
- Analyze log files from UE and gNB using tools like QXDM, QCAT, Wireshark, and vendor-specific logs.
- Develop and maintain test automation scripts in Python or similar languages.
- Collaborate with development teams to triage and resolve defects efficiently.
- Participate in Interoperability Testing (IoT) with network equipment vendors and UE chipsets.
- Support field and lab testing, including mobility scenarios, throughput, and end-to-end data testing.
- Bachelor's or Master's in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in testing 4G/5G systems, with a focus on UE and gNB.
- Strong understanding of 3GPP 5G NR specs (38.3xx, 38.4xx, 38.5xx).
- Proficiency in log analysis tools like QXDM, QCAT, TEMS, and Wireshark.
- Hands-on experience with commercial 5G test platforms (Keysight, R&S, Anritsu, Viavi).
- Scripting skills in Python, Perl, or Bash.
- Familiarity with Linux environments and basic shell commands.
- Solid knowledge of IP networking, TCP/UDP, and routing.
- Experience in testing advanced 5G features is preferred.
- Exposure to test automation frameworks and virtualization technologies is an asset.
